I think this was true of 5-10 years ago, but I don't think it's so much the case anymore. I rarely see Vocaloid English, or even Gumi's SynthV used in English original songs nowadays. The most popular English voicebank is (from observation) definitely Teto SynthV! Of course, Miku's still gets...
Love the detail they're giving about their vocal mode usage in this and the previous demonstrations, it's extremely useful and reassuringly transparent.
Lots of amazing designs as always; I went through the entries and collected my faves so I can be authentically mad when Good Smile inevitably snubs them all

I recall seeing that Dreamtonics has confirmed the original version of SynthV Studio will be discontinued (but still usable) after the second version's release, but I can't find the source at this time. It may be worth picking up the first version soon if you're interested in it. *edit* Found...
I haven't mentioned my thoughts on Uni's voice yet, because it's kind of hard to put into words. She's lovely: effortlessly charming and joyful. She captures the sweet tone of her Vocaloid and elevates it dramatically, bringing so much character and emotion into clarity. I hope they can find a...
Uni has a new demo! Her site's also been updated: looks like she'll have 16 vocal modes (wowza) and her physical edition will cost $350 (double wowza).
I wonder if accents will be adjustable with the new Expression panel? They said 'Raw' brings voices closer to their recordings (more accented?) and Stable brings them closer to a general pristine result (less accented?).
I'm planning on sticking with SV1 for a few patches, as I've learned never...
Here's her product page and demo! Her design is an upgrade from Rei for me, although the straps are kinda weird, it's very classic Yukari!
I'm not blown away by her voice, but it's certainly an interesting new flavour of Yukari for people to try.

Another dev blog!
Backer rewards are back on track, and new features like global consonant length adjustment and phonetic systems are being implemented. I look forward to seeing if I can make the Maghnites sound drunk by setting the consonant percentage to zero.
Heads up: Xia Yu Yao is getting 4 new vocal modes with her upgrade. Airy, Clear, Warm and Strong!
Kyomachi Seika has a Synthesizer V 2 upgrade as a stretch goal of her (unrelated to vocal synths) crowdfunding campaign; go queen.
Shuo and Ririse (previously Voicepeak and Pitagoe voicebanks) are getting singing voicebanks on Synthesizer V 2! This was announced on AHSoftware's latest stream.
Here's what their Voicepeaks sounded like:
I'm aiming to compile a list of links and pricing information for upgrading voicebanks in the OP, let me know if there have been any announcements I've missed!
