Kaito overtaking IA by such a margin is quite a surprise, I wonder if Project Sekai has helped his popularity?

KAITO has been one of the most popular vocaloids for years now helped by the fact that he's a Cryptonloid so im not sure why it's surprising... IA is popular for sure but yeah.. I think he's a bit more recognizable than her worldwide.

That post was in reply to a deleted comment which linked to this chart, the chart shows the number of songs Vocaloids have on NND between 2007 and 2020 - I misread it as a yearly popularity chart, so I was confused that Kaito had suddenly jumped ahead (Since around 2014 or so IA has normally had more yearly uploads than Kaito). But the original chart was actually over a whole decade, so it makes sense for a much older Vocaloid to have more songs overall.
