This one is definitely a must have for me!
If my dog were still alive, I wish I could've gotten this to stick on my wall. I would've loved to see what she would've made of it!
Really pretty figure! The green-yellow is kind of a cringey color, IMO, but somehow it works, especially with the translucent yellow-green hair tips. The pink is a nice color, also. I also like the transulcent inner tube.
(This is a little OT, but what's the deal with anime/synth characters wearing two pairs of pants? I can understand it for anime people who actually have full outerwear on, because sometimes underwear sticks out, but this is a swimsuit.... And actually, she's wearing two tops, too. Do regular people do this?
Granted, when I go to the pool/beach, I usually wear three, but I'm weird.... jk)

If you look at the back of this figure, the blue swimsuit looks kinda (okay, really) skimpy, so maybe having her wear 2 swimsuits is so she can be covered up by still saucy at the same time? Can't have Miku's buns hanging out, I guess. I think it would make more sense if she was wearing the skimpy blue swimsuit but wearing like jean shorts and a crop top over it, so it would imply she was going to go swimming and had the suit underneath her summer clothes.
Or maybe we're both wrong and the pink swimsuit just has decorative blue straps that are attached, so it's just one swimsuit?
Could be. The sauce factor does seem to be why the blue suit is there.
I guess another possibility might be that it's kind of a backup suit in case the pink one fails for some reason?
Agree with this. That's most similar to how I think it usually is in anime and stuff. Though sometimes, like here, it seems like it wouldn't necessarily have to be the way it's portrayed--more similar to the decorative/additional blue straps you mentioned.
Structurally, the bottom of her pink suit wouldn't suffer from the additional straps, though the top doesn't appear to need it. With the color difference, they sure look like different garments...though, since it's Miku, of course any accents have a decent probability of being blue.
I think it's just a decorative frilly garter thing. It's just an accessory--no real utility in the water. In fact, it would just increase water resistance, ha ha.I find the accessory on her leg also funny, it looks like inflatable armband but instead....for her thigh? That piece didnt translate that well from drawing to figure
I'm pretty certain that's a tourniquet to prevent excess bleeding when Miku steps on a sea urchin.
I actually like the Miku swimsuit statue for the most part, but am I the only one who thinks her face looks a lot cuter in the drawing than it does on the statue? I feel like the eyes are a bit further apart in the illustration, but I think there are some other detail discrepancies that I'm not picking up on. Overall it's nice but I like the drawing better than the final product.
EDIT: I think the other thing that's throwing me off is the mouth. in the drawing, the line gets thicker at the edges which implies shadow from her cheeks overlaping her lips slightly, but in the final statue it's just a solid line across and the contours of the statues face don't reflect the cheeks either.

That's quite commonplace with figures, 2D rarely translates 1:1 into 3D. I see what you mean, but especially when taking into consideration that it's a cheap prize figure, they've done a pretty good job.
Overall the figure is very charming, and knowing Taito's figures are usually good quality for prize figs, it's definitely a good buy in my opinion.
