Hello my new beloved, old man in suit with cane and grey hair and thick S's............................

Okay, my obvious biases aside. He sounds great!! ES continues to be my favorite SynthV company. I hope I get some Christmas money so I can preorder him 🙏💖

There's interesting lore flashing along the side of the video during part of it! RIP the job hunt buddy, I get you. The market's brutal... Jokes aside, seems envoys may struggle to set out on their own, even though one of the texts seems to imply that they are allowed to. Or just that the entertainment industry is fickle as ever even in a theoretical future, haha. I love the little bits of this world that are being revealed.

I know ES has been burnt and probably won't do physical stuff anymore, but man I would buy TF outta Tone Chroma merch someday, empty boxes maybe too. I can dream 💔

Also, note for others... I definitely read his name as Remnant, so for anyone else. Remmant, two M's lmao

I don't think anyone else has posted this, so I will: the ES lore account is hard at work again. It looks like Remmant did end up going to the open mic night at Isolda's after all, but he accidentally went on a "spoken word" only night with the intention to sing.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, watch the texts scrolling along the side bar in his demo video :>

Here's the OG post talking about it, and then the quote post with a clip of some awkwardly spoken lyrics from his demo song. The commitment to the bit is SO funny to me. I love ES 😭😭💔

Yeah! We just get scraps at a time, which honestly makes it a bit more fun imo. It's mostly from this account posting screenshot convos from this fake forum. You might have seen people talking about Hxvoc trying to buy memory carts (cartridges) or having a cool car, that's from these things as well

They did a really good job explaining his voice in detail, I wish we had such a thorough breakdown for every vocalist on SynthV.
Maybe it's just me, but Eclipsed Sounds seems to up their game with each release. Firstly with voice data quality (I remember Solaria's overly powerful plosives, which were thankfully not present in the follow-up voice Asterian), and now with this. In comparison, AHS is just the same old same old.

But I must add that my only practical experience is Solaria and Asterian...

I second this. Listening to early Solaria vs day 1 NYL is like night and day to me (pun absolutely intended). Day 1 NYL is just SO much more high-quality than early Solaria to me, and it's very nice to hear. However, I think that the opposite is happening to their popularity. Like Solaria is so popular that she somehow managed to break out of the Fandom, but I hardly ever hear anything using NYL or even talking about them. It's a shame, because NYL is amazing in so many ways! But that's just what I think.

being totally honest, i actually feel as if ES' voicebanks have taken a bit of a quality hit since moving onto SV2, though i feel as if that's just a general side effect of how the synthesis on that engine works now - vbs generally feel a little noisier, but it allows for more of the human inflections or imperfections to come through and for the voice to almost sound a bit fuller.
still, the starry court's sv2 banks have remained kind of buggy since launch, and i would've really liked to see that be addresed some more before a new voicebank release! i reaaaally love what ES brings to the table, so i only mean this in a way that could hopefully be helpful/constructive.

(on the other hand, say what you will about AHS' voicebanks, but you can't ignore the absolute marvel which is SV2 iroha... truly just something else)

unrelated, but i do feel like remmant has a sound that reminds me of somewhere between liam and saros. not fully my vibe but ES still clearly trying to elevate it with their more in-depth considerations for genre and singing style. even when i'm not crazy about the vocal, they still never miss

yes this is my feelings as well actually. on one hand we are getting quality, in the form of ES' great diversity of genres through their voices, and unique characters and defining vocal modes! but like, look at HXVOC's first release and update in SV2. the update drastically hit his quality and ability to sound gritty like the first release. they have yet to put out an update even though i know they intend to, as i email and they expressed there had been complaints about it. i imagine its the fault of a new engine and learning to work with it but i gotta wonder what the backend it like. there are definitely some pros and cons with SV2 atm, but i like the direction ES is taking as it is always promising

Remmant's second showcase has also been posted :)

Unfortunately I agree with the previous posts talking about some noisiness in general across SV2. I think Nyl especially has some issues with their update, looking at ES specifically. And I do hear some noise in Remmant's samples too. Unfortunately I was unable to preorder him, so I can't say anything about his quality from personal use yet, but hopefully soon!

I have to hope SV2's noise and generally worse crosslang accents will improve with time and updates, but if I'm happy to criticize Yamaha, then I have to be fair and say DT's gotta get on the ball too. But that's a whole topic for the SV general thread 😔
