  there's something so off-puttingly corporate about cevio ai
  
  
  it keeps being touted as The Character Based Synth, but near every vb is the same kawaii jpop anime girl surgically created in a lab to appeal to nicovideo-addicted hikkikomori + the abundance of vtuber collabs to bank off of their existing fandom
  
  like, voisona is supposed to be the ~serious, professional~ alternative, but it has more vocal diversity in like 5 vocals than cevio ai's entire lineup

  miku's default vb is such a "jack of all trades, master of none" to me
  
  yea, she sounds fine in a lot of originals, but i cant remember the last time i thought "ah yes, Miku was the PERFECT voicebank for this song!"
  
  the weird thing is that her appends help with that,, but producers don't seem to use them that much in originals for some reason

  the difference between kaito and meiko's v1 character designs is boggling.
  
  meiko is "just a hooman woman to represent the hooman woman voice software", her clothes are very simple and with no real distinguishing characteristics or an interesting silhouette.
  
  kaito is more of A Character™: his iconic blue scarf, his long white coat that flares out, all the yellow arrow accents, it's like a prototype for the character-based marketing that's to come.
  
  i always felt that meiko's design was the odd one out among the cryptonloids, and i can finally articulate why. she's Just Some Gal
