younger me thought Vocaloid was the lamest thing ever until i stumbled upon UTAU around 2017-18 and was like "what do u mean...I can make one of my own? 😳 "

never made one of my own, turns out I like using singing robots better than making them lol

Not me desperately Googling “What anime is Vocaloid from” in 2011 😫

Interestingly, my very first exposure to Vocaloid was primarily Sakine Meiko! The video only featured a few seconds’ worth of Miku. Maybe that’s why I became such a Meiko fan…

The origin stories are so varied it’s bonkers like how do we all just stumble on different voicebanks as our intro in this niche fandom like lol

I remember I went the Claude Lelouch movie way and discovered Miku in her very software-based promotion, then time passed by.... Then stumbled upon the Kagamine's rain garden video... Then time passed by and I arrived on World is mine, then discovered them, Kaito, Meiko, Léon, Lola and miriam, then sweet ann... Before rememberign I did know Miku for longer than I thought and that my first appearance in the vocal synth fandom wasn't right before Luka's release after all...

I stumbled across Miku by accident via YT's recommended sidebar, way back when the site's algorithm wasn't broken as hell.
