While I'm disappointed there is still some engine noise I'm just glad they havent yet taken Miku in the same direction as for example Gumi sv2. The realistic voicebanks aren't interesting to me honestly. I feel like there's no way to improve upon V4's voicebank.

I don't understand this sentiment because you can still buy and use Miku V4X. On modern Vocaloid too, I think? We don't need another Miku V4X.

No I get that I just don't love the very hypothetical scenario where a Miku like that would like take over lol. But yeah I know that wouldnt actually happen really. There's only so much you could do with Miku (or any voicebanks really) though in the future.

The noise does come out with some processing in the mix, and hides more in busier arrangements.

Here's Gumi V6 from awhile back:

I'd probably tweak a few things in it from later experience, like I wasn't in the habit of toning down the automatically applied pitch drift and vibrato, which also helps. The noise shows up more when those are exaggerated, which V6 tends to do by default. (I just open the inspector and drag the sliders down, and introduce them more minimally.)

I don't recall offhand what sort of effects chain I used on the voice, but I would never let anything out the door without compression, EQ and reverb at least. I would imagine I probably swept the EQ over it to find the buzzier part and made a cut there.

I think what Turbo (of Eurobeat cover fame) did with Gumi V6 was also good. The description didn't specify Vocaloid/SynthV, but there's a Google Drive link in it to the VPR file and a document about the process.

One thing I do like is that Multilingual (Vocaloid’s XLS) will make her English and Chinese-capable without having to buy separate voicebanks, and will keep the same timbre as the Japanese bank. I like Vocalochanger too. Maybe that’s what Deco was using?
(Although Chinese fans say V6’s Chinese XLS is pretty bad. Lol)

Probably a lack of data, the engine noise sounds similar to RVC’s honestly. I feel SynthV has a megamodel in addition to the individual voicebanks (and that’s why XLS is so good + it got a bit messed up and more accented in SV2’s launch)

V6 CHN XLS is definitely not great. I think quality can depend on the voicebank, but it's never sounded good when I've tested it out.

Very very interesting, so nice event and I like all the new features! Lots of useful information, cross compatible with Piapro Studio NT2 (latest version) and the Vocaloid 6 Lite (price for upgrading to full Vocaloid 6 editor, about 10.000yen) supports any V3-V5 voicebank, including the Super Pack. The Early Access version will be released mid-december with Miku V4X japanese voicebank, and the full version (planned released date first-half of 2026) will include at launch Miku V3 and V4X japanese and english, with chinese voicebank planned a bit after launch as a free update.

Oh lord no not free updates I've seen how this ended in gaming, please don't let this be a common thing in vocal synths too. I thought that the "official release" would be the FULL release. I wonder why they would do that? Do the fans really NEED that release so much that they'll be willing to purchase an incomplete version? And what about much later, if V6 gets discontinued, what will happen to Chinese? Will it be included in future installers, or will it simply be inaccessible?

Because chinese language is more complicated with all the different accents and meanings of each kanji, so it takes more time, so it's ok they chose to release first a stable version with japanese and english by first half of 2026, and then focus on the chinese language pack to make it sound good on Vocaloid6. Miku V4 Chinese was released later too, and was a different purchase from V4X. With V6, will be free.
I wouldn't worry about the setup process, since the chinese language will probably be included in one of major version update (think of patch v2.0) or as a standalone installer that you can download from Sonicwire, so no problem for that.
Like it already happens with Miku NT2 and Rin&Len NT2, when you download their installer from Sonicwire, you already download the latest version available with the new features.
