Sapphire sounds good, but it's Gemvox, so I'm just gonna ignore her lol.

And yeah, is there no demo available for Hisui? (I also find it funny how they share the same name as the historic name for Sinnoh in Pokemon Legends: Arceus).

I'll admit she doesn't sound bad, but I'm leery of Gemvox in general so I will just stay in my lane and let them be... lol

Her design, or maybe just the art, is very old anime style. Like the hair especially, Clannad to me. Minus the bug eyes 👁👁

I'm sorry but the art looks like early AI image generators like waifulabs or something.
Knowing that Gemvox was quickly caught out for using obvious AI backgrounds on their official demo uploads, I wouldn't be surprised if Sapphire's art was also the same case. It doesn't help that her art doesn't match with Topaz's at all (despite it being really... iffy, it was still done by a human artist).

In all honesty, a vintage anime style would be a really cool concept for a voice synth.

actually, i will say taking a very close look at the art and its lines, the art doesnt have hints of AI from what i know. often times the hair is especially where this happens-- line art "melting" or blurring together, especially where that translucent clothing material would be as it would struggle to define it behind the clothing.
1762106208736.png1762106223814.png <-- hair may not be lined in every strand but the edges are crisp, and there are many strands through the art that are not lined, primarily the pink and purple ones, so it is consistent.

the lines also look to be done with a very sketchy brush, in general this looks like a color sketch with unclean lines which isnt something AI is good with, keeping a texture. still this art's anatomy looks a bit mature with the way the hands and pose look.

1762106253863.png<-- very sketching texture. im sure itd be even more obvious if i had a high quality image and not the video screenshot

considering they DID use real art for Topaz but it was just from a very novice artist, i do not doubt they did get a real artist here too, but not a very experienced one.

The artist is credited as Fyoshihiko01 in their press release. The mistakes don't indicate AI, as work by rushed and inexperienced artists has similar features.

It's worth being aware that most recent AI art generators don't produce noticeable errors in anatomy or rendering, so visual indicators cannot be used to reliably label something AI. It's software designed to echo what it consumes, so it creates close imitations of human work by necessity and design.

So with this they now have at least 1 release in each of the biggest commercial synths. Their banks are fairly decent and I like how Sapphire sounds (I’d heard Yun*chi before & really liked her voice too) but it’s so bizarre how they skimp out on the character artwork/designs every single time… at least it’s a step up from Topaz & Jasper
