for the voices, I think things will get better and better with the future NT2 and V6 banks, but it's also the concept of Project Sekai that you start with simple v-synth and can make various type of songs. Since it's also a game with live-development, it was the preferrable way for them, and again, I feel with NT2 and V6 engines there will be more improvements ^^
as for the codes, in Japan there were codes (to use only with the japanese version of Project Sekai) given both to regular and limited tickets, and for the overseas release, I've heard that most of times the codes (for the english version of the game) were available on some tables at the theater entrance :meiko_lili:

Thanks for the info on the codes! I guess my theater was too small and the codes all got grabbed already. Ah well, no worries!

I'm not sure I can get behind the idea of "you start with a simple synth and can make lots of stuff" as a good reason for the voices in the game, unfortunately. Also, although I try not to talk about it much and be a huge negative nancy, I don't care for the tone of V6 banks, so I don't have much hope there. I do actually have some hope for NT2 though, that could be quite good.

Still, the current sound as-is? At the risk of sounding too harsh, it's just an unacceptable result to me. I wouldn't want to release my product like that, and I'm kind of shocked Crypton did. Even if they apparently want a more cute/young tone for Meiko and Luka (based off the SP), the sound quality itself is still bad... Well I'll get off my soapbox. I hope you are right and they improve, especially with NT2 and hopefully the eventful commercial releases of the rest of the Piapro gang's voicebanks

(And I hope I don't come across as being really combative or anything! If anything I'm frustrated with Crypton because I love these characters and know they can sound better than this 😭)

Yeah. I play project Sekai, and i HATE the Voicebanks. I don’t usually use the cover versions, but i take one listen to any of them and OW JESUS MY EARS. I could do better Meiko tuning as a newcomer WITH TINY V3. The game itself (the rhythm game part) is fun, but i only play for the actual Vocaloid songs. But still, the “bands” are for the most part bad. Also, I don’t mean all the fans, but seeing or hearing “My favorite Vocaloid producer is *insert group here*” HURTS.
