I preordered Eevee (along with the new accessory plus I got a free keychain~)! I'm super stoked to play but I gotta wait until the mail comes in about...8 hours. But after that I'm not sure I'll be able to put it down.

I also loooved Detective Pikachu. I loved the game and always loved the concept artists "realistic Pokemon" fanart so I'm glad it paid off for him and he got to work on something he loves! I just really wanna see more already so I hope we don't have to wait long to see more.

I'm also glad they shot all those outdoor shots (the river with Bulbasaur, the hills and the car driving along) from the trailer in Scotland. It's great seeing my country in something Pokemon-related after all these years. <3

My favorite thing avout Detective Pikachu is we’re actually getting a film about something othere than Ash and Pikachu. I’ve always wanted more content about the games, and especially so the less kiddy audience. Like Pokemon will always be that way, but there are times like in Detective Pikachu or Pokemon Generations (that however many episode little OVA-type series on Youtube) that Pokemon grows up a bit and it’s amazing. I hope we get more stuff like this from now on

Tomorrow is the big day~! I’m curious to know which one eberyone got/is getting, Let’s Go Pikachu or Let’s Go Eevee.

I pre-ordered myself Let’s Go Eevee off Amazon this week, really excited about it. I wanna get Let’s Go Pikachu sometime too but eh, one day. For now, I’m just team Eevee and I plan to get the Pokeball controller during Christmas.
Something I thought aboug recently, could this be the first Pokemon spin-off but kinda a remake (I think it is supposed to be a remake of Yellow but I can’t remember) game with multiple saves? Because how the Switch is, you just make a new account (that’s how Zelda did it instead of the usual at least), so...does this mean multiple saves? I hope so, I can just make a new account on my Switch and play the adventure again for this and the future main series games.

And what did everyone think about Detective Pikachu? I think it looks freaking amazing and I love Ryan Reynolds playing Detective Pikachu. Definitely gonna go watch it next year.
Didn't get Let's Go yet, but am very excited for the movie next year! Looks like so much fun

I am SO excited for this you have no idea. As a kid I wanted Pokemon Snap really badly but was never able to get it. Some years ago I heard a rumor they were making a remake for the 3DS but of course that was just a rumor. Now we're really getting a remake and I'm so excited!!!

Yeah. When I was playing Black I was really surprised about how quickly the rivals tried to battle me after passing some routes on the first parts compared to when I was playing old gen games (I don't play XY and afterwards so I don't have any experience with them)

The original black and white was “why do I hear boss music” personified with how often you had to battle your rivals lol

Anyone here like Zubat? Zubat seem useless in lower levels and are overhated, but after reaching Level 21, they work as decent Pokemon. Reasons why I like Zubat would be: they're cute, quite strong with confusion, bite, mean look and fly (on Golbat and Crobat)

I have shiny Zubat and Golbat in Shining Pearl - for some reason, the RNG was really good in that game for me, so I managed to catch two shinies from the same evolutionary line. My boyfriend was mad I didn't try to evolve them into shiny Crobats though lol.

I played every mainline generation up through Sun/Moon. I enjoyed almost all of them, but R/B/Y was my favorite.

The trouble was, every subsequent generation became more complicated. Part of it was my fault--I had an old GB and a GBC at one point, and I would plan my teams out, either plotting out how soon I could get stuff (If I couldn't get it on my team early enough, it seemed like sort of a waste.) or breeding eggs and trading them between older games and new ones. But there was also the appearance of additional mechanics. With Natures and IVs, it wasn't enough to have a Bellsprout, you were incentivised to have the right Bellsprout. That seems like it honors the idea of all Bellsprouts not being the same, which makes sense, but it also just gives you a new reason to be choosy and waste time trying to either plot breeding chains or get the RNG gods to smile on you.

Compared to that, R/B/Y was simple, and it was easy (for me, at least) to just dive in and enjoy the adventure of playing. I saw the anime before I played the game, and I still remember the thrill of starting up my first Pokemon game for the first time and getting to see all of that stuff firsthand.

I love Gen 4, but I am still very upset bc I lost my Platinum copy on a charter bus and I had like 87 hours on it :kaito_lili:
I still have my OG copies of Pearl and Platinum - I sunk so many hours into Pearl back in the day just exploring, filling up the National Pokedex and taking part in contests! The remakes were actually a bit disappointing to me, because not many quality of life features and really good bonuses were added to the base game. Compare Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl with HeartGold and SoulSilver - the latter added so much to what was already considered a huge improvement over the Gen 1 games on GBC.

For me, I found that the games became simultaneously way too easy and unpolished overtime. Admittedly, Game Freak have never been the best programmers (have you ever wondered why Missingno. even exists in Gen 1? Also, they had to bring in Satoru Iwata to compress the bloated code for Gold and Silver in order to rescue the development of them), but ever since they jumped to 3D development with X&Y, the quality control has been slowly going deep into the toilet. Sun and Moon weren't bad, but Sword and Shield definitely had a "needed more time in the oven" feel. Scarlet and Violet came out with glitches even I discovered during normal gameplay, no attempts to brick the game at all from my end.

Difficulty wise, it also felt like over time, whatever quality of life stuff GF added to games gradually became insulting to their playerbase. The big one for me is what basically amounts to the EXP Share item from past games being permanently turned on in modern titles. While I personally don't mind entire parties all gaining experience at the same time in principle (because not only is it a common standard in RPGs today, but it also removes the annoyance of having to individually level up Pokemon to make sure they're all sitting at similar levels at certain points), GF hasn't updated the difficulty of the modern games to account for parties potentially being overleveled, and if anything, they seemed to have decreased the difficulty over time to accomodate fans who came from Pokemon Go and mobile/tablet kids. As someone who's been playing the games since Gen 1, I honestly find it insulting, especially since GF still refuses to add difficulty levels to the games (barring that one time in Gen 5... Which they hid beyond game completion, including the easy difficulty. Again, insulting.)
