I guess they are actually trying to do something about resales this year?

The accommodation plan and lottery process was a lot of trouble, but I'm happy I succeeded in getting tickets for all concerts I wanted for my friends and me in a legal way in the end.
Even got back my money I was charged for too much by now. Was such a pain but... the result is perfect! The work paid off!
Good luck to all of you too!

And yes it seems to get harder by the year but it sure is possible to attend if you really want to. I personally attended every Magical Mirai since 2014 even though I'm from Germany. And I'm far from rich hah.

Still finding out how to get tickets from other sites.

In other worries anyone doing a Osaka to Tokyo bullet train trip? Any tips or advice on how to buy a ticket for that ?
I was planning to take the shinkansen too, but I'm not 100% sure yet. I suppose you have to buy tickets in advance online or at a ticket counter when in Japan.

This is tangential to the topic, so I'll enclose my reply in spoiler text.

It's really simple. The Shinkansen stops at Shin Osaka station, where you can simply show up at the ticket counters. All they need to know is your destination, Tokyo, the Tokaido terminal.

You have the option to buy a reserved seat ticket, for which you indicate a specific departure time (they'll show you the timetable), or you can travel unreserved and take any departure on that day. You could buy a ticket in advance, but it's absolutely not necessary for most of the year. Just show up and you should be able to catch a seat for the very next train.

You should make sure to reserve or board a "Nozomi" departure (that's the actual name), as this is the service that makes the fewest stops between Osaka/Tokyo. Make sure to check the signboard for upcoming departures and the track you need to use. Keep in mind most of the seating is reserved and only a few of the cars are marked unreserved (first come/serve).

Guys don't hesitate to ask if something is unclear or you need some other detail.

I can't go but there is one thing I'm curious about: What is this "pre-18" or something concert I sometimes heard about? Sounds like there is an age restriction to attend a Magical Mirai but except this one show?
I don't remember where I read this the last time but it was something about MM.
There's no age restriction for Magical Mirai as far as I know. Are you talking about U-18 tickets maybe? I think they were available for all shows and they're basically just cheaper tickets for minors.
I haven't heard anything about a "pre-18 concert" before so I don't really know what you're talking about.

This might be off-topic, but I feel it is slightly relevant especially for those attending the MM concerts and staying under AirBnB.
I just had my Tokyo reservation cancelled. Besides getting a full refund, AirBNB gave me a coupon to use on a future trip for the same amount and a $100 coupon for one of their Experiences within 6 months. I haven't heard anything about my Osaka reservation so I should probably get that sorted.

EDIT: It also seems they have a fund set aside to help cover any increases in travel costs sustained due to the cancellation. Guess I'll get me a nice hotel now lol.

This was the first time I was planning on getting a light stick and it seems they are already out of those, not to mention a lot of other merchandise. Will they sell those on site as well, or am I out of luck? I was thinking of getting a light stick and scarf for the event.

Of course they do.
I attended Magical Mirai 2014 - 2017 and also will this year and I don't go there particularily early to line up for goods and I never experienced them running out of those, because almost everybody wants them they stock quite a few of them.
They might run out eventually later during the day I can imagine, but if you go there not too late it should be no problem.

Hey, what's the best place to resell leftover Magical Mirai tickets? A friend and I both won in the lottery, so now we're stuck with 2 leftover tickets. They're S-class tickets for the night show on Sep. 2nd. I don't know if this board is a good place for resale, but I'll try it anyway. So if anyone's interested, just contact me.

Try Reddit also, that's where I've bought mine last year

初音ミク「マジカルミライ 2018」企画展ステージSpecial Live

can we reach this special live just after the end of the magical mirai concerts ? Because on day 1, it seems to be too late...
The live starts at 5 and should be wrapped up by 7. Unless you take 30 minutes getting from the live area to the special live, you should be fine.

I'd like to go to the Friday night one but I don't know if I want to ride all the way to Chiba just for that. Plus, Mogra is having a Vocaloid DJ event of their own that night VOCALOID DJ BAR 39 - MOGRA 秋葉原

Magical Mirai 2018 theme song by Omoi is up! Greenlights Serenade!
It's the producer's typical Miku tuning which I bet can be a bit too much in the chorus for some people. I liked the song from the first impression, should be nice live.
Still I am even more hyped that the full version of the Kagamine theme song will be up in actually exactly one week, July 13th as it was confirmed!! :-)

Look who is there in 3:15 - 3:18. Two characters who "accidentally" look like Kiyoteru and Yuki.
