CeVIO IA English Thoughts/Opinions?

I hope when we get to hear longer samples of IA's English voice, we can tell if it's more expressive compared to some of the other Engloids. Right now, our options have sort of a monotone quality as Yamaha figures out the right phoneme combination (in my humble opinion), so I think it would be neat if IA's English bank(s) (I hope there's more than one!!) have some clear emotions to them.

Just my opinion, but I don't think IA English would have sounded half as nice as she does if this were a Vocaloid bank instead. Not in the state that english Vocaloids currently are (and have been for like a whole decade now...). I wouldn't say it sounds 100% perfect, but the songs & samples we have so far sound a lot more expressive and natural than anything I've heard with english Vocaloids before, that snippet near the end of the ARIA teaser trailer sounded especially amazing and I can't wait to hear the full version. Cevio English is looking really promising

I also like that her tone sounds somewhat closer to Lia, at least on the songs where she isn't pitched up. It may not exactly match the way her V3 banks sounds but damn this may be sounding more like a Lialoid than IA ever did before.

You can hear the full songs on Spotify! (See Exemplar's post earlier)

To be honest I'm kinda disappointed 1st Place moved focus to the CeVIO engine
She does sound more expressive in these demos than the English VOCALOID voicebanks have been so far, but I'm afraid I really don't like the CeVIO engine noise - to me there isn't that much difference between IA English, ONE and Sato Sasara's voicebanks timbre-wise because of it.

A well-made C voice (I just mean Sasara and ONE for now, maybe including Yoko) won't appear too much noise in their recommended vocal ranges.
When I saw your avatar I just recalled the Project 575 voices in Vocaloid don't sound very well either since they are not very "well-made".

Yea I know the original V2('lite') voicebanks of them were not the best quality because of what they were made for and they only used a lite version of the engine, but I kinda still liked the voices and was glad they were upgraded to V4. (even the engine noise of them, as noticeable as it is, isn't as jarring to me as the CeVIO engine noise if that makes sense; I find it quite nasally while Azuki and Matcha's original voicebanks were more choppy if anything).

I would be lying if I said I wasn't even a little disappointed that she isn't coming to Vocaloid but I do like Cevio and I have been wanting to get it for a while. Now I have more of a reason to buy Cevio now that there are 3 voices I want.

When it comes to how she sounds, I really like it and it makes me happy. I always preferred when people would tune IA to sound a little deeper and more mature. For example Cillia/Kyaami's cover of Too Cute! using IA rocks:
and this video
I love the way IA sounds in these two videos but people normally make her higher pitched and more cutesy. So her English sounding similar to my preference is just so awesome lol.

Wow, finally! Does anyone know if CeVIO's interface is in English yet? I wonder if they'll be done with their beta testing for version 6.1 by then?

CeVIO has some various pieces here and there in English. 6.1 also has some things for English mentioned in the notes but it's not fully English yet. It's super easy to navigate without complete English however, so don't worry. Also the description for IA ENG C mentions CeVIO 6 so they'll be complete in their 6.1 beta testing by that point, plus maybe future tests for more updates.

Right now the 6.1 beta has engine updates which also include work to improve it for an "upcoming English voice" which is IA ENG.

I am really excited reading about that it looks to have two voicebanks, a Natural and a Powerful. And you can use the fader to get a desired voice. God just give me it, and maybe a physical package too. I'd love that.

I'M GOING TO CRY????? TWO BANKS AND AN XSY-ISH FEATURE?

gjlkfjsfjsdlkjfslkj i wish i had a source of income

Part of me is lol'ing at how people are automatically going "English V when???" yet at the same time I'm almost wondering if there really is a chance of it happening eventually. I doubt it and I'm happy with CeVIO, but at the same time I love Vocaloid XSY asfdjkl

I want to hear the Natural and Powerful voicebanks separately so I can tell any differences, but so far IA English C sounds beautiful. (But I do feel the pain of the people asking for English V. I still feel like it was a missed opportunity for a new English Vocaloid bank).

In this clip, 0:00-0:15 are IA ENGLISH C_Natural, 0:15-end is IA ENGLISH C_Powerful, from what I can tell. Much more soulful voice that I feel VOCALOID struggled to pull off well. She's really cheap compared to ONE honestly, glad they fixed their prices.

1ST PLACE have been working on this VB since July 2016 at the very latest, so they clearly intended to make it for CeVIO for a reason. Still increasingly annoyed at people complaining it's not a VOCALOID VB when we might not have got this at all.

Just to say 1stPlace didn't do that much, the main work is done by CeVIO official developers. 1stPlace is more like a supervisor (and a sponsor), and it only takes over the tweak work at the final stage. As a publisher of a popular character, 1stPlace is speaking louder than C official.

I really do like how she sounds, that power is just so freaking amazing

My only isssue is that it really doesn't feel like "IA" to me. Don't get me wrong, I'm fine with CeVIO and definitely gonna buy her sometime but it sounds almost nothing like how I've come to know IA as
I'd feel much better if this were a different character as a whole, but I'll get used to this as IA eventually

I have a feeling that it will be disappointing once we can hear her raw.

And as others have already said, it does not sound like IA at all. It sounds like Lia though (which is good, I suppose).
Too bad that making multilingual covers with her is going to be very difficult :(

I'm kind of excited to se IA English on CeVio. She'll be the first which is a milestone and it can help boost the software. About her not sounding like "IA", remember that CeVio is a different beast as to VOCALOID. Of course she won't sound exactly like IA like her VOCALOID voicebanks, but I feel if you buy and tamper with her, she can definitely impress you guys. Of course hearing more samples or her in action is a necessity (even her SC page has samples although short), but I just don't want people to give up on IA yet, especially since this is a bigger deal/collaboration. Let's also not forget "H" who may (not saying it will or won't be) be a VOCALOID, so it's not like 1st Place is done with the VOCALOID software yet.

It's just disapponting to me as IA is in my top 5 and I loved her for her voice. I just wish it could've been more "IA" and less "Lia" regardless of engine. Her voice sounds amazing but it's nkt the IA I know (I'd associate how I feel with how people think of Luka V4X because she sounds hardly like V2 or the same disappointment at IA Talk's release). I also especially loved her softer tone that I don't think the CeVIO engine captures as well. I think that sums up my (and likely others') opinion pretty well

As for the future with H...it does seem more like 1st Place is leaving Vocaloid. There's still yet to be an update for IA's Japanese VBs and I think with IA English and Talk on CeVIO, IA and IA Rocks may move over too. Or at the least, H will move over

On the bright side, I've been wanting to pick up ONE for a long time abd this gives me more reason to buy CeVIO. Gonna wait to see if IA English gets a starter pack though, 1st Place does beautiful starter packs and I love IA with her pink aesthetic

Yes, she will have a Starter Pack! On her site is the text " [スターターセット (ボイス+CeVIOソングエディタ) ] … ¥11,800+税" which translates into "[Starter set (Voice + CeVIO Song Editor)] ... ¥11,800 + tax".
(She's also available without a Starter set.)

Apparently a Talk Editor also exists for CeVIO, so if you are planning to get ONE's talk voicebank, you will need to get this as well.
