My uni was supposed to reopen to like 90% capacity this fall, so I got my job back. However, for various reasons vaccines didn't solve all of covid and in my city especially cases are very bad, so my uni is closing down again. My classes going remote hurt but what hurt worse was hearing that the store I work at is going to be open 5 hours a day 5 days a week, and 3 of those days I have class during the only hours we're open, so I can't make it. Essentially, I can now only work 10 hours a week at my minimum wage job. now im looking for a new job sigh...
just heartbreaking because when vaccines rolled out it felt like everything was going to get better but it almost feels worse now...im tired of this rollercoaster.
tried dying my hair pink today but totally failed... i guess i was not destined to be a member of the pink hair club

Whatever color it is now, I'm sure you're rocking it! You could go bald and be the most stunning woman in the room, let's be real.

thank you peaches!!! that is SO sweet!!! :lapis_ani_lili:
its some parts pink, and some parts, as i describe it, "uti pee blonde".
sometimes my hair doesnt take dye in, my friend who went to hair school has a few different theories as to why, but sometimes i go to dye my hair and i do everything right and there are patches that just wont color. i went over my hair three times today and sadly there are some chunks that just REFUSED to go pink. so now they are uti pee blonde
in happier news,, my apartment has internet now yaaay

thanks peaches!! we've made great progress with unpacking the kitchen stufff and some of my room stuff. the 2 giant boxes full of my clothes though are still a daunting task

Euagh. The clothes were what took me the longest. It was a full month before I took them all out and hung them. If it helps, try dealing with just ten articles of clothing a day, no more. If you have the energy to do more, great! If not, hey, you've put a dent in it!

oh and my bed frame and my detolfs...but those arent pink so they are less important

You’re in your own place, right? I say take that gap semester. She won’t react well, but when it’s done it’s done. That’s what I had to do, and it saved me mentally.

Thanks for the advice, peaches! It's risky because of the amount of financial aid im on, taking time off gets complicated with loans and scholarships. I think i'll tough it out one more semester, but if they pull this again in the spring...im not gonna be a happy camper

I think that’s a mature decision. Do your best and use all of your resources to help you, no matter what. Maybe drop a class or two if it helps lighten the load; you can make up for them come next year or maybe summer. Just get through this semester and start planning for what you might do if something similar happens Spring semester.
i move in to my first apartment tomorrow, i'm NERVOUS and STRESSED as all get out but also cant wait to just have my own place

Congrats!! The moving's the hard part; once you're settled, it's SO nice. Best of luck, and remember to take frequent breaks!

I agree! having your own place is one of the best things, really, you might feel stressed at first and don't know what to do, but remember to take your time and do everything little by little. It is also important to make a list with important tasks and follow them, for example: go to supermarket once a week, make a laundry once 2weeks/when necessary, clean the room once a week, cook meals and put them in the fridge so you're good for 2-3 days, etc.. ^u^ you'll have a great great time, don't worry! ヾ(*´∪`*)
found a couch at goodwill for 15 dollars today. it's a little ugly but not too ugly. i cant wait for the future when i have guests over and i remind them constantly that my couch was only 15 dollars.

Hey, you can find good couch covers at Walmart that actually don't look tacky! You can have your couch and enjoy it too.

cross country drive went good the first day, second day our ac broke while we were in the desert and my cat threw up and i was very nauseous so that sucked. moved my cat to my roommates car who had ac so he wouldn't overheat. now we made it to our hotel and i just have to keep an eye on my uhaul for the next few days to make sure no one steals it before we move in.
siiigh also moving back to the town and being around the people responsible for the trauma i've been dealing with this year feels like a step back </3, but i think i'll continue to do better. especially now that one of my best friends is moving in with me and i'll always have him to have my back, earlier this year when things went down i had felt totally alone and estranged from everyone. it'll be good to have a "rock" around.
it'll be awhile before im active again cause still in the moving process! but i'm doing okay!

The worst is almost behind you! Best of luck, and remember we're all here for you. This year you're gonna kick ass and take names!
had some free time to work on music today but had a big creative block and couldnt come up with anything good grrr. now that im moving i wont have time to work on anything for a few weeks so i was hoping id come up with something today lol. at least time spent practicing isn't time wasted~ !
from the director who brought you "i bowled so hard i couldnt walk for a week because of my DOMS" and "somehow in the middle of the night i got 6+ spider bites" comes the new hit movie "i slept so wrong that my shoulder is really fucked up and i can't breathe without it hurting"!
i dont want to pack anymore i just want to throw all my old possessions out and start over. 10 boxes in and i am so tired

@WyndReed c'mon, that's just straight-up incorrect. Take as long a rest as you can afford, Cafe, then push through! You've got this! Remember to drink lots of water and reward yourself with your favorite meal when it's done.

And to tell you the truth, throwing out your old possessions really isn't a bad idea if you have no use for them. It's something I've been working on lately: forcing myself to abandon my normal reasoning and toss anything I'm not using. "But I could use this later!/Throwing it away would be wasteful!/Someone else could use this!" Nope, nope, it's smothering me. If someone wants it they'll dig through and get it, just get it out of my sight. Such mentalities, even short-term, can really help when dealing with an excess of stuff. God knows it's helped me.

Thanks friends!! progress is slow but steady. mostly just have clothes left. i've actually finally started parting with a lot of stuff, i think my frustration for packing trumps my obsession of keeping things LOL. lots of stuffed animals that i held on to for no reason are going to go to a new home noww
