Just listened to the song...wasn't prepared for that, since the early access didn't work for English. It's really clear and intelligible, and sounds very Miku!

Definitely does have that V6 buzziness in there, but I'm confident that's something that can be corrected (or at least toned down) with a bit of mixing surgery. Looking forward to experimenting with that.

Whereas NT's art was light and frilly, V6 is dark and sharp - I wonder if this contrast was a deliberate artistic decision to distinguish the Mikus? I was genuinely blindsided by her having a new artist, the old pose lulled me into a false sense of security. I've been so used to Kei/iXima Miku.

That said, tell me why them getting Crusher for the demo is the craziest part to me, I was gobsmacked. Glad to see her still making music!

Fans on Instagram are asking if the design was AI generated, which is so insulting to LAM (speaking as someone who's not a fan of the V6 design. It looks more like a design for Project Diva or one of the concerts rather than a voicebank design. I do appreciate the return of Miku's volume on her hair though!).

Hm, gotta say, I'm not a huge fan of the new design. From a purely visual standpoint it looks decent I guess, but the way it's shaded just doesn't really click with me. I do like the new boots and the fact that Miku now has hair, but other than that this just looks... generic I guess. It looks like a fan redesign for Miku V2 to me, if that makes sense. Also, the artstyle (no hate to the artist, just a note) looks very similar to a lot of AI generated "art", and I feel like that's going to cause some discourse on the hellsite known as Twitter. It's a perfectly acceptable design, just not exactly my cup of tea.

EDIT: Just listened to the demo (yt wasn't working for me for a bit), and I think it sounds pretty good! Miku sounds at a happy medium between V3 and V4, with it being MILES better than V3 (most voicebanks are), and I feel just slightly fuzzier than V4. Pronunciation-wise, girl has never sounded better. As a sort of "test", on my first time through the song I looked away from the video to see if I could get any of the words on my own, and I actually got like half of them! This is a monumental improvement! Also just noticed, but her hair clip things are in the shape of a heart now. 0/10 give me my nice square hair clip things please (joke).

It's LAM style to have very vivid colors and a kind of "street" cool cute side, and while LAM style might not be for everybody (very different from KEI and iXima style), is unique (working on some translations that explain the new design, will post them here soon). Also, LAM recently had lots of successful art exhibitions both in Japan and overseas.
Some of the nice previous LAM artworks (also made Catch the Wave module for Project Diva and various collaborations with PokeMiku and Project Sekai, and Hero-chan of Magical Mirai 2023 is so loved by fans), you can clearly see the beautiful eyes, unique attractive designs and the vivid colors on both hairstyle and clothing:

I feel like the buzziness was much less pronounced in Feel Move, the other confirmed V6 usage we've seen--though I think that song had the vocals surprisingly quiet compared to the music. Between that song and Like a Shooting Star, we might have some idea of the tone/buzziness possibilities. Could be it has to do with the pitch (Feel Move was lower-pitched.), English, producer choice....

AI art generators mimic the style of the art they are trained on, so to criticize a long-standing artist for making work that 'looks like AI' is punishing the victim. The similarity is the result of an artist being stolen from, the commonality is a reflection of how widely they've been exploited. One major negative impact of AI art is how it cheapens the way people perceive the victim's work (which took a huge amount of effort and skill) - for absolutely no fault of the artist. So unconsenting AI's damage on artists is twofold: the AI theft itself, and how we react to it. Luckily, the latter is something we can control, so I advocate for never using 'looks like AI' as a criticism of an art style.

I feel like I should bring some positivity into this thread. In my opinion, the V6 design is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. She's so cute guys... I love that it's a new take on the original design, yeah yeah I am probably biased as I might like the original design a bit too much.

It's a bit weird to me that people here aren't used to LAM's art, while I might be more used to it than the average person here due to my involvement in (non-vocalo) rhythm game spaces where they are quite active, they have illustrated Gimme×Gimme, multiple Kanaria songs including Envy Baby, yeah, the PokéMiku collab stuff and probably more.

It settles the question of if she has ears, canonically-speaking.
Do NOT tell me this was something the community has AT ANY POINT debated LMAO
