  • She's here! She's in borderline mint condition too. If it weren't for the lack of product DVD, you'd think I just bought her new. Welcome, OG Miku Box!

"and, honestly, most of these aren't" are they more like psychological or thriller? I will check them out either way cuz they all seem interesting! ( and ofc will look them up before watching, I can handle gore and that type of stuff but u never know...just in case )

Enter the Void looks very pretty, from what I've seen from the screenshots~ It also for whatever reason reminded me to watch "Under the skin" which was recommended to me by my at the time classmate ( and if youve seen it tell me what you think! )

Ty!! I honestly didn't know where to start, horror honestly has many bad movies but I really like the genre

Yeah, most of these are psychological ("existential horror," specifically). My apologies. Outside of basics like the Saw films, I haven't seen many traditional horror films. And I haven't seen Under the Skin, but it looks interesting! I'll add it to my list.

The credit sequence for Enter the Void is one of the best parts. It's dizzying, but amazing.

No need to apologize! That type of stuff is right up my alley~
My cover of The Past is Like a Dream has gotten so much positive reception on Bilibili! It's already got three comments (technically four, but two were from the same person so I count it as one). One said it sounded great, another said it was "very good" and "The mixing technology is better" (I'm... not entirely sure what that means. I'm guessing they're saying it's well-mixed? Or maybe the mixing is off and I could do better? I dunno); it's got three likes and a favorite!
I got a fix for the lagging audio issue with Lightworks! Basically, I add the lyrics about half a beat before they actually come in, and once I export it, it lines up perfectly.

That said, it's a temporary fix and nothing more. Once I finish this, I might seek out a different software for adding lyrics to videos...
My plans to finish that video tonight were swiftly thwarted, as suddenly I can’t even sit straight up for more than a few moments at a time without feeling like I’m about to pass out. I’ve been fighting off a cold for a while, and it finally passed... and now I’m too dizzy to function, so I’m operating from mobile. I’m glad this waited until I got home. If I was behind the wheel when this started...

Anyway. Aside from that, while I was cooling off from the frustration of my video being out of sync, I applied for four more jobs. Wish me luck!

Surprisingly, I got a lot of fantastic rest! I chugged some NyQuil, and that and the dizziness allowed me to pass out at around 9, and I didn't wake up until my alarm went off. The dizziness is gone, thank God! Wonder what that was all about...

Oh awesome!! You were probably just overtired tbh. I'm glad you're doing better!!
Well, I say I can get this video done today... but Lightworks has decided it Does Not Like Me and, after painstakingly splitting up the video to add and position the lyrics, when I export it, it's all miserably out-of-sync. None of the stuff I've Googled has helped: everything's the same frame rate, and it syncs perfectly in the editor itself, and every other answer given is given by tech geniuses spouting technobabble I can't make out in the slightest.

I couldn't figure out how to do this in VSDC, otherwise I would have. My God this is a headache.

I'd hate to waste your time with it. I might be able to cut out the audio and resync it in another program.

I (think I) solved the root of the issue! Lightworks won't accept any of the file forms that you can export from VSDC, so I converted my AVI file via Handbrake, which distorted the audio. I'm not really sure how I didn't catch that or what went wrong from there, but it's a start.

I'm thinking about setting a Premier for my Valentine's cover, since I can easily get this video done by the end of the day... my thought is that setting a Premier might generate interest, at least to a tiny degree. It might be better than just cold-uploading like I always do.

I mean, it wouldn't hurt, at the very least.

Screw Adobe. I finally found a free program with an audio visualizing tool!

It's actually the very first video editor I ever used. I gave up on it because it was just too clunky for my tastes, but in the year since I abandoned it, they've done some massive overhauling. I'm having a lot of fun rediscovering it!

    Fare thee fuckin' well, OpenShot.

VSDC! In the wake of its overhaul it's become slightly more complicated, but they have a YouTube full of videos covering how to work everything.

Here's the video about how to add an audio visualizer! I'm messing around with it now. It's fully customizable, so I made mine in Haiyi's colors!

So I'm looking for underwater landscapes to use in my upcoming video, and lo and behold, I find this:

And I'm like, "Huh, that's odd. Why does it seem so familiar? And why is it giving me awful, terrible flashbacks?"

    Then it hits me.

Ooh! That looks super cool! I've never thought of trying that...
    Aaaaaaaaaah--

One of my classes this semester is in the art building, and all of the computers have access to the full Adobe suite. As long as there's not class going on at the moment we're in a computer lab, we're free to use it as we please, even if we're not in any of the art programs.

I know what I'm doing tomorrow.
That Yerba Mate cleanser I got yesterday... I suppose the sample I tried at Ulta was on its last leg. Rather than a milky texture, mine was thick like a clay cleanser, and then it lathered up, not nearly like what I expected a foam cleanser to be. I love the texture, the lather, the scent, everything - I'm praying this one works out, because it's amazing!

And I need to stop buying so many cleansers, and I fear I'll give into temptation and try buying another one if this one doesn't work out, so it had better work out.

Dammit. All that effort for nothing. The Matcha and Milk Thistle cleanser... the smell was okay, but deeply artificial (like, worse than The Body Shop's matcha-themed products), and I didn't like the formula as much as the first cleanser. As far as tea-based cleansers go, I've been spoiled by Krave's Matcha Hemp cleanser. My expectations are just too high, I guess.

Luckily, I anticipated another disappointment, so I picked up a Yerba Mate cleansing foam while I was at Ulta! It starts out in a sort of runny gel/milk form, so I'm not too worried about it drying out my skin. Besides, it's Korean, and if anyone knows quality skincare, it's Korea.

This makes five cleansers in under two weeks. I've gotta stop doing this.

If I had a crush, that would be perfect. It'd sure beat the time my ninth-grade boyfriend gave me a box of Midol for Valentine's.

I could always give it to my friend, but she's as picky about her skincare as I am, so I doubt she'd enjoy my reject pile... It's occurred to me I could sell it on Facebook Marketplace, because that seems to work for women who shill pyramid scheme makeup, but just my luck I'd fail in that endeavor too.

Reminds me of the time we had this secret santa thingy when I was 9 yo. I didnt give the gift much thought until it was too late and I just took this severed barbie head I found and that was the gift :clara_lili:

No, no keep it just in case zombie apocalypse breaks out or something and youll need spare skincare in the shelter.

Can’t you return the products if they don’t work? Like I’ve returned shampoo and conditioner to walmart/target (don’t remember clearly) that did not work or the scent was not bearable/reacted too, so I assume that facial cleansers would be returnable.
Anyone care to give me some feedback? It's such a short song, so I wanna make sure it sounds as good as possible. (Of course, I've got some work left to do, and it still needs mixing - I just recorded this straight from SynthV via Audacity.)

Ah I see, I'm not familiar with the lyrics of the song, maybe if I understood chinese a bit it might not have been as jarring at first but I get it!! Actually the ending was my most favorite part of the cover! Good job!

It's basically a guy reflecting on a girl he was in love with in high school. It's mostly sweet, and then the fucking ending:

I’ve kept this secret from you all this time
So please, let me write you into my song
Paper planes carry the scattered years on the wind
Though I’m not sure you remember them

    Forgive my awkward young heart

It took four freaking stores, but I finally found that Matcha and Milk Thistle cleanser (and a matching eye cream)! Walgreens, Target, and Ulta were all busts, so I figured I'd give up and head home. I decided to stop in a local health store and peruse their soap collections to make me feel better. And that's where I found it.

I don't wanna get my hopes up too much, but I'm excited to try it! I loved the general formula of the last one I tried (and this one has a similar formula), it just... it ranks up there with neem oil as one of the worst-smelling things I've ever put on my skin.
I'm super excited! I've gotten so much work done today. I wanted to share a piece of my Valentine's cover! (I'm still working on the balance. It's trickier than I anticipated.)

It’s just, like... I got Haiyi two weeks ago and this is the third song I’m making with her. I got Gakupo and Kiyoteru a year ago and still have yet to find good covers to use them in. 😅 Thank you!! This is a really fun song to work on.
