Considering it has always been on a Sony console, they obviously are working together (except for the Mirai spinoff) I'd say that's extremely unlikely.
But well I guess that wouldn't be so uninteresting!

We would have heard about this new game already if it were releasing in mere 3 months.

There need be marketing, press reports, a website, etc. all confirmed months in advance. We have NOTHING official even remotely hinting at new Project Diva to this day, I'm sorry to say.

I'd say a 39% complete in July is feasible for a new Project Diva, as it seems like it's possibly been in progress for some time based on Wat's tweets (if a new game is happening). I have to agree that they wouldn't just go up and release it unless it's a demo, or an app, or something small.

No Project Diva game is listed on Sega's upcoming release website and I've been checking it like every month. I didn't mean to stir controversy by bringing up what the Japanese side of the net was saying, I just thought it was interesting to share their speculation. It's not like I said it's a true fact.

I haven't payed attention to a Diva game release until now, so I don't know how it works and I don't know about the 39% progress thing (or where you hear the news about it). But I can have unreasonable hopes and dreams and pretend it's coming out soon, right? ^^;

IA’s show in Texas was cancelled. Very disappointing for fans that were going, but I at least can be happy that I don’t have anything to be sad about not going to anymore

Okay, I would ask you: had any of you did heard the news about the next Project Diva game on this year's E3?

As far as I know Project Diva wasn't on this year's E3?
Not sure what you mean... A real chance for a new game announcement is Daiba de Diva next month and if not who knows when SEGA will revive the series :kaito_ani_lili:

I think if it was at E3, there would probably already be news on most gaming sites that it was there? :v

I would love to see new Project Diva news next month but I'm kind of thinking... it won't be for PS4 because Edit Mode is super important to the series these days. And I remember reading something like that PS4 can't have MP3 songs, yet custom songs are important to create PVs. Pretty sure it also won't be for the Vita because the handheld is dead unfortunately so the only consoles I can see the new game that actually includes Edit Mode come on are PS5 (if it includes MP3 songs) and maybe Nintendo Switch since the Switch is super successful, it actually sold more copies than PS4 in Japan just recently, despite being on the market for shorter time than PS4. Source Although, I'm not sure if NS can have MP3 songs on it?

New game could be like Project Diva X with no edit mode but it risks having low sales again... Especially if it will be only on PS4. I'm curious about the new Project Diva game in the series but I'm also somewhat worried what sales will it have if it will only be on the PS4.

Does Edit Mode only support MP3, or in theory could it support alternative audio formats like AAC (the standard on iTunes and whatever the music side of it will be called soon, thanks to Apple trying to kill iTunes), FLAC (the favoured codec among audiophiles), OGG, WAV (Windows' lossless format), etc. A console is more likely to support lossless formats that a lot of people don't use, which would mean converting audio files to the right codec, however.

for anyone is wondering why it is taking so long for a new game, there are some various things to consider:
- SEGA recently moved its headquarters in a new building, so during the past months workers were busy moving in their new offices
- most of DIVA team is busy with Valkyria Chronicles team making the new Sakura Wars game, and the DIVA Arcade team is busy with Kankolle Arcade
- the new SEGA CEO changed the structure of the development teams, they are more flexible, so that they can help with each others projects and make better quality products in less time (and this really helped SEGA financial earnings)
- DIVA X sales overall were ok, but the problem are always the songs licenses (very expensive). so now the team is thinking "what is next for the series?". An idea was to make a spin-off game with a collection of mini games, think something like Mario Party structure. The more you play, the more modules, accessories and elements of PV Edit mode you unlock. and with the limits of PS4, the PV edit mode could use songs only from PiaPro database (which is more than enough in my opinion ^-^). And there is also the idea of making a HD collection of previous Project DIVA with the updated engine of DIVA X (60 fps and real time self shadows) and all modules released.

I would buy a Mario Party-like spin off structured game for Miku tbh.... Or just Mario Party but Miku and Friends because what better to make your friends angry than to the tune of Streaming Heart in a minigame???? Hire me Sega lol jk

Anyways, not surprised that they're taking their time on this with how X did. Since Vita's basically done for at this point, I wonder if they'd put it on Switch because it could probably handle X graphics (or at least X Vita graphics?). I would also take an HD collection of the PSP games, since a lot of good songs are on there...

I want to believe they'll have something for Tokyo Game Show, but, I'm just desperate lol.
