huh. for some reason i did not even register it as Spanish wen i first listened i realize.... probably because that sort of opera singing i associate with english (or italian) rather than spanish, and was not thinking thatd be the language sung (i find opera style singing to be hard to understand at times too so that doesnt help). which is probably worth noting. hopefully, we will see some improvements through testing and development.

They have names and a webpage now (Hxvoc* and Galenaia). Tiny bit of a mouthful but I strongly appreciate Eclipsed's commitment to unique names with good SEO, searching for content from Anri, Jun, and Selena drives me bananas.

kinda wish they went with different spelling for HXVOC as the missing "a" keeps making me read h-voc or hex-voc instead lol... like, HAVK (HAVXC? idk) or something. i see people uses x's for aesthetic to fill vowels but i just never read a vowel there
My brain refuses to read his name as anything other than HVAC. I think he will sound better than an air conditioning unit though. lol

popping in here to make a 'i just when to NAMM' post.
the version of hxvoc and galenaia at the show were not actually their newest/most recent developed versions as they couldnt get the newest builds on the lap tops. i mainly was paying attention to hxvoc as the other ppl around were listening to galenaia, and i got to hear a demo cover that has not been shared to social media yet (at least when they told me a few hours ago, they hadnt. its a linkin park cover!).
but bc i was focused on hxvoc i can only speak on him:
hes apparently the one voice they have had in development the longest. about 2 years-- before NYL and SAROS! he likely would have just been released for SV1 but SV2 started development and kind of just came in at a time where it seemed appropriate to release him for SV2 instead. he also does have some rap data (which i was able to get a feel of with the linkin park cover).
sadly i did not get to peek more at the other things like parameters, but the demo cover i heard had more tones in it that the screaming type, which gives me the idea that hes got some other vocal modes in there thatll take away some of that screamy sound and make him decently flexible for other sounds (and tbh i think SV2's new functions w timbre, pronunciation, and pitch w vocal modes will help a lot w that too).

That's really cool, I'm extremely jealous of all the NAMM visitors.

while obviously this is still all speculation, i dont doubt the possibility that Galenaia would have the ability to sing "non-operatic" to some extent mainly because we have already seen operatic vocals who have the ability to do so (depends on how you look at it. Feng Yi tho her opera mode is seperated and Cheng Xiao... well, kind of Cheng Xiao. her accent is very strong.). but like... she IS being advertised as a opera vocal, so thats what shes gonna be, and i think any part of her trying to sing outside of that type will not deviate much from what she already sounds like (perhaps the new tools in vocal modes will give more control over this, at least more so than what would be available in SV1).
i do want to see more neutral spanish vocals as much as anyone else but, it doesnt make sense to put that expectation on Galenaia when shes just not being shown as that. It would be a nice surprise to see strong flexibility in her voice but i dont think it should be expected and i cant understand when fans think this way... idk why people would be sitting around expecting her to fufill that role when she is advertised to not be that. "An elegant operatic vocal designed primarily for classical usage" should make it p clear to fans what she's made for imo. people are undeniably gonna be mad if/when she turns out like this but it shoulnt be a surprise :/

So I'm a sucker for robots of any kind, including humans with cyborg mods, he already got me there. But his voice is so nice! I feel like Eclipsed always outdo themselves and push for new angles and it's always such a treat. He's legitimately lovely. I will try to preorder him!! And look forward to Galenaia's preview too

very excited about this series of voices. the lore they have also decided to develop is also very interesting and seeing an english vocal synth company tackle what feels like a unique attempt on making characters is super exciting to me. i guess since this is the Tone chroma thread let me summarize a bit of whats been happening on the THS Forums Scanner (i dont think this needs its own thread) as of right now. and feel free to correct me on anything i interpreted wrong or missed!
THS Forums Scanner is a account on Twitter and Bluesky that posts screen shots from a 'forum' taking place in its own universe. The forum is fictional, not real, and this account is in character for fiction. Tone Chroma seems to be in a universe that also includes the Starry Court as well. Theres some strong sci-fi vibes going on here as it seems to imply a far future, likely where Earth is not inhabited at all or not in the way it was before-- things like the "Old Earth Preservation Society" or "pre-calamity era" coming up. People like HXVOC and GALENAIA are referred to as "envoys" while there seem to also be "non envoys", its still unclear exactly what an envoy is. the Starry Court seem to exist in some form, as there is a "Lunarian Opera House" that hosted an event with GALENAIA and seems to be a location called "Asterian's Rest". But still, unclear what their status is right now.
Its still very early to give a concise summary but it seems there are "data storage cartridges" scattered around that HXVOC (who's even labelled on the forum as a "verified envoy") seems to be seeking out, and whatever ruling party or government exists also wants to collect them and states it is illegal for non-envoys to have them, or to sell them. hard to guess what relevance these data carts might have! will it play into future voices being announced? perhaps their discovery will reveal more of tone chroma? im especially eager to see what may come up regarding the Starry Court's status too... seeing a apera house or a place named after them is interesting, as it makes it feel like theyre maybe no longer around or not physically real in that world.... or, potentially in charge of it. and 'pre-calamity'? sounds like something real bad happened, maybe a post-apocolypse sci-fi situation here.

Oh yes thank you for summarizing this! I wonder if the Starry Court have like some kind of deity status, based on the Asterian's Rest deal. So exciting. I of course don't care what kind of blank slate people use the banks for in their songs, but having some fun lore bits being dripped to us to extract does make for an intriguing reveal. I'm loving it. Can't wait to figure out what's up with envoys and memory carts. Also, the description of Hxvoc being kind of a junker with a cool car is deeply funny to me. Chaotic man.
