GekiyakuV and KazehikiV not only got their demo today, but are also released for purchase! You can buy them standalone, in a bundle together, or a starter pack bundle [which includes Cubase].

The addition of Cubase is because *drumroll* VOCALOID Beta Studio is coming to V6 users as a free add-on, whether you're a new customer or previous VOCALOID6 customer. They haven't announced when it will be available, but it will be attached to your V6 editor code and all VOCALOID:AI voicebanks will receive VXB versions. I do wish the VXB features/sound came to V6 instead, but this is still good! Previous VXB Vtuber vocals will also be receiving V6 versions.

Thank god for the weak yen. If you buy GekiyakuV&KazehikiV Set from the Japanese Vocaloid store, it'll only cost roughly 97€/105USD after conversion instead of 135USD, btw

Edit: man, PayPal conversion rate is not kind to me but I paid in total 100€ for both. you actually need to create an account on the Japanese Vocaloid store version and a Japanese address to buy there 😲 didn't knew that but it's easy with a proxy address and Google translator xD

It's still experimental, but open to more people than just a small lottery, so I expect it's not going to work with V6 voices overnight. I think the lack of any form of editor to make VPR files (it relies on either using the V6 editor or experiential Cubase integration) is a good indicator that they're focusing solely on engine work and don't want UI as a distraction.

I imagine we'll see this eventually integrated into the V6 editor, regardless of whether that continues to be the V6 product or becomes V7, but it's not going to remain in this incarnation for too long. I also can't see them making Vocaloid exclusive to a single DAW, and the V6 editor is really nice overall.

Support for per-note lyrics isn't super reliable across DAWs. I do think exposing parameters for DAW automation is likely to make its way into later releases though. That's something most VST instruments do, and DAWs tend to have more mature interfaces for editing parameter lanes like that. (Though not keeping that data in the VPR is a little bit of a downside.)

I AM VERY, VERY HAPPY WITH THE NEWS.
I think it's a little weird that they're going to be separate programs, but maybe there's just something about how the voicebanks are handled in each that makes it easier to be that way, and can be likened somewhat to a Cevio AI voicebank having their 1.0 and 2.0 versions available? Either way, I'm just excited to be able to use VXB, cos I missed out on it the first time! I've had a lot of faith restored in Vocaloid <3

Also, I kinda think it would be really useful for VXB to have something like SynthV's audio to midi thing, considering that you can't always necessarily create your own song sequence files just through the DAW (depending on what you're using, right?)

So it’s coming out to everyone but only for the 6 voicebanks in the video ? Is there any chance of extended support for say Galaco? Or is it like a seperate thing entirely?
I mentioned it in my post, but to reiterate, all VOCALOID:AI voicebanks (meaning V6 voicebanks) will be available for VX-B so long as you have them installed and activated on your computer. Your code for V6 and all of your V6:AI vocals will be the same as your VX-B codes (as in, they're all linked).

This is probably why they haven't announced a date for VX-B coming out again, because now they need to make every V6 voicebank compatible with VX-B and it's more than just a simple swap over. V6 and VX-B, at least in their current state, use completely different technologies and aliasing systems (VX-B uses romaji and arpabet for phonemes, V6 uses X-sampa). This means they'll have to completely re-train everything using separate labels and that will take time.

From the way they've described it, V6 is still the main product and VX-B will be an additional thing like VOCALOCHANGER. I do hope that the technology from VX-B replaces the tech inside V6 though, as it's definitely higher quality with more features. (I want them to keep XSAMPA though)

GOOD ENDING: they make it compatible with multiple styles of phonemes like maghni plans to
i'm just so accquainted with arpabet at this point and have it all memorized, but due to not being super good at using lloids back in the day I don't really know ANY Vocaloid Sampa </3 (recently, thanks to tunelab, i HAVE been learning!)

On the topic of if they'll likely be relabelling them all and retraining them, it kind of makes me think that the vxb versions aren't necessarily the same voicebank with a different vocoder, and there's a lot more behind the scenes... basically, two different VBs, hence why V6 and vxb aren't just being integrated.

Correct! It's definitely easier said than done to integrage VXB into V6, but Yamaha's a multimillion dollar company and probably has the most resources available within the vocal synthesizer world; they could definitely do it. I simply want the updated sound quality and more parameters. As much as I'm happy Yamaha is "back in the game" (somewhat) and actively reviving characters or making new ones, the quality of V6 really is just...not good in its current state. You can get it to sound fun with a lot of work, and I'm not asking for the most realism there could be, but at least something on part with past iterations or CeVIO 1.X/CeVIO 2.0.
