  • Meh, I'll hold off on trying to make an Avanna box, and if I do I'll just use her OG design. Using fan art for a boxart mockup, even just for a personal collection, feels... odd.

I've been working so much with dumb designs the past few days that it almost makes me feel like I'm accomplishing something.
On my lunch break, I was hit with the intense desire to start back up on a Songman cover I started earlier this year. So I might just do that tonight!
I wanted to do a light remake of CUL's boxart, because her official one is too... lens-flair-y. Debating whether to leave it white, add some more color, or add in some kind of design. (I also shoehorned in my favorite 3D render of her, because holy FUCK that pose, that face, that presence... I am in LOVE.)

White looks nice... Otherwise maybe you could try a gradient ? =o Like, crimson with white or inverting red and dark grey with the greyish part at the top and the reddish near the bottom part... Or add random semi-transluscent geometrical shapes like diamonds or circles in the background, and perhaps adding a gradient effect as well on half of the shapes (or even try something more epic like maybe a goth-inspired background or copy a bit Sweet Ann's boxart with real flames instead of curtains-tha-people-still-mistake-with-flames-because-it's-done-in-oil-paint-effect )
Seeing the continuing decline of IA and 1st Place almost makes me wish I hadn’t sold her Vocaloid VB. At least it had something resembling charm. :kaito_lili:
Well now that I vented both to VVN and three of my coworkers, my day’s a little better! I had a couple of very kind customers. One invited me to the shop she’s about to open for a discount on any one item (and it’s not an MLM, it’s also hand-made!). Half my shift down and half to go; I’ve got this!
Still obsessed with the OG Chuck-E-Cheese, who looks like he would, in the words of a YouTube commenter, "beat a child with his mic and then put out his cigar on their weeping mother".

Though after a bit of research, it would appear that all but two of this particular model of Chuck-E animatronics has been destroyed, and while we have video of one surviving animatronic in its current state, that state is... not good. It's oddly sad, especially after inhaling what little footage survives of the restaurant in the 70s repeatedly over the past few days.

I dunno if it’s general demotivation or what, but the thought of selling all of my SynthV banks and then the editor itself has crossed my mind a few times lately. Whenever I open SynthV, I get this overwhelming feeling of “Wait, what am I doing?” and then close out of it without doing much of anything else.

Ah, maybe I just need some retail therapy. A new Vocaloid would do me good right about now. And maybe a big ole’ McFlurry.
A few days ago, the mod of one of my Facebook groups posted a horror movie recommendation, and after a long and winding series of events just barely connected to one another, YouTube now won't stop recommending vintage Chuck-E-Cheese videos to me. It's actually interesting to see such unfamiliar aspects of something that was such a big part of my childhood (relatively speaking), but of all the rabbit holes to fall into...

It's a little strange seeing the characters I'm familiar with (and not) dedicating entire portions of each show to celebrating America and signing patriotic songs. American nationalism isn't something I've ever really associated with a rat who hosts children's birthday parties and sings... it's not completely illogical, but it's definitely weird, and I'm glad it wasn't part of the shows I saw growing up.
Ah, the CUL Collab VPR is complete! I gave up near the end of the first chorus, took a few minutes to sulk and clean the bathroom, and then managed to finish it all with renewed optimism and strength. My goal's to sleep on it, get some feedback from Patuk and Luwo, polish it, then start sending it out on the 7th!

Fun fact: I once called one of my managers over to help me, because no matter what I tried, the Print computer wouldn't let me log in.

She took one look at it and asked what "peaches2217" was. I was trying to log in with my VVN info.

This happens a lot more than I care to admit.
I've taken the liberty of making a separate box for my Miku V3 English, and in recreating the serial label, I've come to the realization that Vocaloid serial labels are written in Calibri, the default Microsoft font.

I don't know what to do with this information, nor am I sure why I find it so amusing, but that's something I know now, as do y'all.

Like... if I wanna recreate the Vocaloid logo, I have to go on a massive hunt to find something that resembles it closely enough, then to recreate the serials all I have to do is open up Publisher, slap in a text box, et voila? I'm sorry, I'm genuinely more amused than I have any right to be 😅
The good thing about living alone is that, if you're writing a sensual kiss scene but don't have much first-hand experience in sensual kissing and being in a long-distance relationship makes practicing impossible, you can recreate the scene with your giant black bear plushie to make sure what you're writing is physically possible and flows naturally without fear of your mother walking in on you and presuming her sad, lonely daughter has reached an all new low.

...yes, that's happened before. Twice. Mom I'm just doing research I swear
