Thank you and congrats on getting her too! Strangely enough, her discount is still up on the eng shop rn, could it be they forgot to remove it from there?
Finally, I sat down and recorded the first pitch of my first utau ever ahh. I took advantage of my family going to the beach to have a quiet space to record eheh, also, recording under a blanket really works for deadening the room, I'm shocked!

I have a couple of rerecords to do in the following week but it's fine, I'm strangely satisfied enough with the results.

Talking a bit about him, his name is going to be Kyomi Aito, and he's supposed to be a slightly voice-acted tripitch cvvc, along with a little bit of pitch\formant shift to help achieve the character! In the end, I went for cvvc for better smoothness and smaller reclist, I hope I can share something soon. I can't believe I'm finally doing it after all these years wanting to and never doing anything :mikoto_lili:

You can put pillows or cushions around microphone and cover it with blanket or curtains it can use as a decent sound absorption, blanket don't reflected the sound that well, it can reduce energy of the sound wave and pillows can use as final layer of sound absorption.

If you're using a microphone, a good solution for a pop filter without having one is covering it with a tissue. That's what I used to do before I got an actual pop filter.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll make sure to try those out!
So, after all the discourse surrounding V6, I need to bring some positive news: I downloaded the trial and decided to start getting myself acquainted before the arrival of Una and GOD I LOVE using it. I'm hooked to the workflow for AI voices, they are so nice to operate and the emotion parameter is a true godsend. The styles are also really cool, wasn't expecting much from them but they are actually super useful (at least, for me lol).

I'm just a bit sad that you can't get the default vocals separately, as Akito sounds super nice, but hey, I'll wait and see for the upcoming free vbs for a new male vocal. I'm working on a project with him though! Overall, I'm really happy I finally took the plunge to upgrade. :lapis_lili:

honestly i've been loving the vbs on the engine, I think V6's AI is capable of such notably diverse vb output that makes me excited for new announcements, something more traditionally AI and realistic like Haruka or Akito, character-focused that preserves the original sound like Gumi and Una, something out there and experimental like Po-Uta ( he wasn't the 1st of this kind but definitely the best execution of it imo ) and I'm not sure how to describe Fuiro but her direction feels distinct from the others too, like that of KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO vb.
Not me opening twitter after, like, ages just to see people complaining about Una being on V6 for no reason... like, she can be up to taste ofc, I'm not saying you HAVE to like her, but sometimes it just feels like people like hating on everything Yamaha does just because it's Yamaha. I don't get why so many people are saying she sounds bad, those demos are quite surely barely tuned if at all and even then they sound alright to me  (sorry, I needed to let it out)

Most peoples always love to complaining thing because it's easy that way to get attention and to excuse of poor performance.
If you ever try to ask complainer about solution you will most likely got nothing from them or get hate in return.

Best to ignore that they doesn't exist or I would say this is the best way to cure this kind of problem.

If they don't like it, don't buy it, and yamaha didn't force them to buy it either. Isn't that simple?

This is my theory. I think people are very disappointed with v6 ai as a engine for many reasons. People are also still burned from how Yamaha handled v5 and now with v6 people are still wary with how it sounds very similar to non ai synthesis yet is missing a lot of features like parameters and features that are now standard like drawing pitch on notes. You can see the disappointment with past v6 releases this isn't new. I think people were hoping for a more natural sounding version of Una like with we got with other ai updates like zunko, stardust, ia, luo, ling, and Teto.

You are all so right. The worst thing about all of it is that this resentment really serves no one, it just contributes to the creation of a toxic and negative environment which kills all the excitement for new releases. I love Una AI and surely the opinion of a bunch of people won't change that, but, as much as I wouldn't like to, all the vitriol towards V6 kinda made me discouraged. Also, V6 is definitely a good engine, the fact that it behaves differently from other synths should be seen as an enrichment to the pool of choices available and not as a negative thing.
So emh, I might have impulsively bought Una's sugar physical starter pack as a month and a half early birthday gift  . I'm so happy and looking forward to have her and V6!! Her box is super pretty too help
Am I the only one who finds tuning harmonies really tiring?
I have a Sonika cover which is almost ready, but for the harmonies and like every time I sit to work on them my motivation instantly goes away orz. I really need to overcome that because I desperately want to share Sonika love lol
    ___
    ___
an angel descents from the heavens and gently whispers into my ear "you don't need to tune the harmonies" a single tear runs down my cheek with content smile on my face, I've been preaching said truth since then.

alternatively....just use AI tuning 😳 I don't think.....there's any shame in that cuz harmonies don't need your creative input nearly as much rtyuio
    AmazingStrange39
    AmazingStrange39
I often just leave the harmonies untuned or make them from a copied track, thus rendering the tuning exactly the same (unless I'm trying to pull a Mitchie M and go for ultra-real tuning just to see if I can do it)
    Cerāgi <º•
    Cerāgi <º•
@Legally Pipp Petals ooh you're right, I could try AI tuning and call it a day(I just need to tune them a bit as some little parts of them are actually heard, but doing everything by hand is just not worth it orz... but AI will serve me right, thank you for the suggestion!). next time I will definitely follow your example guys and leave them untuned though :kyo_lili:
I bought Sonika on Sonicwire as she was only 45€ and I LOVE HER SO MUCH with all her flaws... she's so fun to tune and I think I've found "my Engloid"! :sonika_lili:

No matter how objectively poorly a vsynth is recorded/programmed/etc. it's always hard for me to say they're bad cuz vsynths are so subjective and all have artistic merit
    AmazingStrange39
    AmazingStrange39
Yeah, and I'm pretty sure every synth has someone who's super good at it.

Heck, there's probably someone out there that can make the UTAU Tree sing beautifully XD
    Cerāgi <º•
    Cerāgi <º•
@Legally Pipp Petals exactly, that's always how it is for me. Like, ok, Sonika's raw quality is pretty terrible, but put her voice in a song and she will easily shine thanks to her voice type and characteristics. As vsynths are meant to be an expressive tool, I think the expressive qualities of the voice can really be a deal breaker regardless of programming/recording quality sometimes and every single vb has a place for it to fit in!

It happened, I got the flu just two days after Easter..
Given that I can't do anything rn but laying in bed I wanted to work a bit more on tuning today, but I just couldn't 'cause my headache was too strong rip. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to do something orz

Thank you so much!:giggle: I'm sorry it was that strong for you... I hadn't had it for such a long a time too and I honestly had forgotten how bad it could be uff... I'm treating myself by drinking chamomile and watching tv series when headhache and fever allow me though, so at least there's that :kaito_lili:
Guess who gave in and preordered Kanato Mell because she's super lovely and I stan her so hard? I'm SO looking forward to the 20th now!

Also, I recently was finally able to find what I think is my absolute favorite Utau, Macne Sasayaki, and she's even more gorgeous than I expected, I really love her tone a lot. I also gave remaking her oto a try and I had surprisingly fun doing it! Like, it's a pretty monotonous activity, but I find it quite relaxing tbh (I still have a lot to learn though). I started working on a cover with her yesterday and I hope I can share it soon. :giggle:

Lastly, I bought a new xlr microphone last week, so as soon as I find a little more free time I think I'll try and record my first cv bank, which is something I've been wanting to do for quite a bit tbh! I'm in the utau loop too from now on lol :yohioloid_lili:
I'm a subject of hers, she's THE MOMENT ;; (hope she sounds fine tbh)

Just passing by to say that GALACO IS AMAZING, I love her waay more than I expected. 😭

Her Vocaloid vbs are super high quality and smooth, and her talk bank is super fun to use and very clear. She’s criminally underrated.

Btw, I also wanted to tell anyone(if they don’t know already) that her talk bank is still available on Sonicwire! I bought her this morning and she was still bundled with it. So if you missed the chance to get her by the 10th on the Vocaloid shop, you can still get her there 😊(I suppose they’ll continue bundling her with it until they run out of codes).

I’m heavily considering impulsively getting Galaco for her talk bank, but idk if I’m already too late rip (her page still mentions it though, so idk), and I’m still unsure whether she would work with my tuning style or not given she’s not a voice type I’m used to working with ;;;;. If I decided to get her on Sonicwire soon would she still be bundled with it?

Ahhh what should I do, why am I so indecisive 😞 (I think her voice is so distinctive, so it’s not like I wouldn’t use her, but I recently got the Kagamines, this wasn’t planned at all)

I was able to find Rune Factory 5 for 2400 yen in a Book-off near where I live! I've been wanting to give it a try for months now, I'm so looking forward to starting playing!:chika_lili: (I'm still playing Rf4, and Pokémon violet, AND a visual novel, but whatever, I can manage adding it up, I think)

Ahhh thank you so much for the help! I was considering going after Ryker or Martin for now, but Lucas seems so interesting too 😭(I love them all help). But the second I saw Ryker I was like “you’re going to be the one”, so If things go smoothly I’ll probably try romancing him as my first one! 🙏🏻… we’ll see!

I have to say the cast is absolutely lovable from what I’ve seen. I’m liking the game a lot so far! (I’m going forward slower than usual as I didn’t take into account that the Jap version only allows you to play in Japanese when buying it, thus the dialogues take me a bit more to read, but it’s fine. I’m taking it as an opportunity to practice the language more and it’s quite a cozy game to me, so I like enjoying it at my own pace! 😇)
I know the mixing is probably terrible, but there's only so much I can do rn with 20€ headphones rip, I'll probably wait to come back to release the full cover with a more decent mix. However, could anyone please give me some feedback on how the tuning is coming out? :kyo_lili:

    アイノマテリアル WIP
Soo, I forgot to say that yesterday I bought myself the Kagamines as a late Christmas gift (my parents had given me some money to spend on whatever I wanted, but I was a bit unsure about what to get, so I basically procrastinated on the choice and it suddenly was the 30th 🤧).
I’ve considered upgrading to their v4x for quite a bit of time, so yesterday I decided it was high time to do something about it and went to a store to buy them!

I’m having SOO much fun using them, they’re so perfect and I’ve basically spent all today’s morning tuning … I really was missing tuning in V4.
As a Rin stan, I decided to immediately put her to use on a cover of one of my favorite “newly-discovered” songs (from what I think is one of my favorite producers, moreover! ^^) and she’s basically tailor made for it, I’m so happy!!

It’s also the first time I’m not suffering while tuning the Kagamines lol (I love ACT2, but sometimes they really make me want to flip the desk, because fixing their problems isn’t exactly something I’d call relaxing, or pleasing at all 😓).

Anyway, I might post a WIP soon, the only thing is that I’m concerned about the mixing, as I don’t have my audio interface and studio headphones here in Japan…
I’ll see what I can do!
    Hi everyone!
It’s been months since I visited here and I hope everyone is doing well and having some amazing Christmas holidays! ^^

Sorry for my disappearance, but those past months have been… “busy”, let’s say, even though “difficult” may be the right word here. Trying to sum it up a bit, I basically am now in Japan as an exchange student and will stay here until February, which is wonderful in itself: I met a lot of wonderful people and am for sure enjoying the experience!
However, I had to say I underwent some pretty rough times here and I’m still recovering from that: it may have been apparent, but I suffer from anxiety quite a lot of times. I’m kind of used to not feeling always good due to it, but somehow in Japan it got even worse. I unfortunately developed severe insomnia due to it and I started not sleeping at all for several days in a row for what have been at least a month, while being overwhelmed with worries. Of course, this had caused a domino effect which led me to experience anxiety even more frequently and to a greater degree: I started skipping classes due to being too tired to be awake and went down the spiral of feeling extremely guilty about it (among other things), my mood swings went worst, and every minor inconvenient could cause me to have anxiety attacks. Things became too much to bear for me, and in the end I finally decided to ask for help and am now taking some medication to be able to deal with it.
    Cerāgi <º•
    Cerāgi <º•
As of writing this, I’m slowly but steadily recovering from it and I’m fortunately already feeling way better than two weeks ago, when I started taking my medicines, which I’m really glad for. Of course, completely dealing with it will take longer and a greater work from my part, but I’m feeling like this a good starting point nevertheless. I’m sorry for disappearing for so long, but I wasn’t feeling “ready” to come back, in a sense. Don’t get me wrong, I love this forum and the people I had the opportunity to talk to were all so nice, but sometimes online interaction in general can make me feel really anxious due to their intrinsic nature, so I decided to quit “social media” for a bit while trying to understand what was going on.

Anyway, I’m now starting to manage things more comfortably again, so I thought this may be a good time to return, as I’ve been missing having fun here a lot ;;.

I’m sorry for venting out about it, but I kind of felt the need to explain the situation.

If you’ve read through all of this, thank you so much! Lifting the mood, I’m looking forward to be active and have fun with you all again!! :mirai_lili:

Ok, so I came back home from a short holiday and took the time to fiddle around with Cevio AI searching for the dynamics makers and I finally found them! Now, why are they even hiding it from the ruler, how is a person supposed to know there's a hidden yet such useful feature if you don't explicitly say it bsbjxjn :kaito_lili:. This brings Cevio editing to another level though, and I'm super happy with the fact that Sekai handles it particularly well ^^

Which cevios do u have? curious cuz they can have such varied reactions to it 😭
    Cerāgi <º•
    Cerāgi <º•
I have Sekai and Tsudumi’s trial for Cevio AI and Minato and Kasumi for CS7.
I wouldn’t really count the latter as I personally didn’t find it to do much at all aside from changing the volume rip; On the other end, Sekai reacts greatly to it! (I could post a clip tomorrow if you’re interested 👍).
Tsudumi is quite strange though: if you leave her emotion parameter at 0 it doesn’t seem to make a noticeable difference, but when raising it up I find it kinda starts to impact the vocal more 😅
