    Of course people on vocatwt are taking the Synthv Gumi news as an opportunity to shit on v6… I’m tired of this happening every single time a vocal gets a vb on the engine

    Exactly, and the worst is that seeing people making a huge fuss and discarding anything that isn't synthv kinda made me start to not enjoy it as much as i used to

    Plus yeah, while SynthV gumi sounds clean (though in the demo I heard she seemed to have that weird raspy sound at the end of some words- though again, raspy is a general characteristic of GUMI's voice and what makes part of her charm- and yes, while SynthVB gumi can sound more vivid, at least with V6 you can convert your voice or someone else's in hers while with synthv it's like with Deepvocal, cevio, utau you have to redo everything by yourself or using a premade sequence)

    Also, while voicebanks are impressive on synthv, there's been this period where too many VBs sounding alike released at once (just like how V3 was) and yet i see none of them discussing about it! (and yet, it comes from someone who LOVES Saki and was happy to see newcomers though i've been feeling like it was repeat all along, kinda with cevio having released a lot of the same voicetype -hence why Rose was refreshing, and even if Mell falls deep into said voicetype, she manages to stand out a bit more from fellow cute comrades)

    It's exactly where I stand: as long as I see synthv as one of the many engines we have nowadays I like it, but after all the vitriol that has been used release after release towards the others I'm waay more chill and indifferent, and for a certion period of time I totally stopped caring for it.
    As you said, yeah it has many great features, but it has its problems too (voices sounding very similar to each other, no voice changer, etc), which is fine ofc,just like with every software, the problem stands when said problems are purposefully ignored by the fandom just to pursue a war between engines that serves literally no one.
    The program itself is good but the "culture" surrounding it is very toxic (and honestly it was one of the main reason I'm just now slowly opening a bit more to it ;;).

    I took all the suggestions into account and after playing with the voice a bit Kevin seems to handle the song much better :chika_lili:, I'll probably upload the finished version soon ^^ (and yeah, the song wasn't forgiving both with tuning and mixing AT ALL ;;)

    I chorus part need a little more push (or power), you can do it by making harmonic parts or give a vocal more tension especially at very end of the song. The whispery voice is nice, it could be use in break section before final chorus and little bit of EQ (HF lift) and reverb is recommended.

    You can use other cover song as reference and apply to your cover ( looking for something like tonal, singing style, etc)

    First time mixing an utau and omg I’m so bad at it ;;, I’ve been struggling for almost two days and still can’t get a satisfactory result help

    Take a breath, let the project for a while and then come back. Hearing it over and over again will not help you. I also recommend you to hear the instrumental and find the sweetspot where the voice is supposed to be, it kinda works for me! ^^

    @AddictiveCUL (Add) I’ll totally go this way, right now I can’t make it better and I’ve listened to it so many times everything sounds bad to me, I need to forget about it for a bit and then come back later on🙏🏻.

    I’ll try to upload the mixing wip file and even the utau wav rendering if anyone wants to have it tomorrow (I’m too tired now sorry 😅). I could note any suggestion down to work on it as soon as I’ll have rested up a bit on it :3

    I want to get into enstars but the franchise is so confusing? There are multiple games and arcs, the 1st one not being officially available anymore from what I get(?), an anime, movies, story arcs ;;;; help

    The anime is really fun! But yeah, anything else... I got into the original game like 2 months before it got it's update and suddenly everything changed and the old cards were useless and.. yeah. Not fun. The gameplay is really grindy in both the rythm app and the original tap tap game. Like SUPER grindy. I'd say it's not worth it to actually play 🙃

    I started watching the first episode today and so far I’m loving it! The plot seems deeper than I was initially expecting, which is super interesting.
    You also really get attached to the cast right off the bat(?). Looking forward to continuing it tomorrow 😊

    As for the game, having hard-obtained cards becoming useless for an update does NOT seem fun at all 😕.
    I tried it a bit and I kiinda liked it just because I’m a sucker for gatcha rhythm games(coff coff SIF coff coff) and I like the fact it has all the little stories which make you connect more and more with the idols, I definitely cannot judge on the mechanics though, I’ve still tried too little of it to understand if I effectively like it or not. I’ll try it a bit more and eventually give it up lol

    Mixing process is definitely that moment when I go like "wait, this sounds uninteresting\flat, maybe I can fix something and do better than that" just to go back and basically retune everything again speedrunning without realizing it LOL. I'm really appreciating alter\ego though as I don't have to do things separately, it's all there for me to change 'till the last second :ring_lili:

    I think I've finished tuning the cover I was working on with Leora! Now for the mixing and maybe adding a harmony layer on the chorus and I could be able to upload it soon :leora_lili_smile:

    Honestly, I just wish I had gotten her when she was still available, as working with the "swapping-files" method means I can't use the crossfade function and it's a bit annoying orz (if she was still available I would buy her in a heartbeat, I love using her!).
    Well, at least I have the xsyn plugin from v6 which comes handy in this situation.

    At the end, I pledged for Oscar's physical box! (Thank you birthday money)
    I loved the vocal bits they've shown and the art is beautiful. He's definitely in need of support rn so I'm really happy I did it, definitely do it if you can and like him!
    Had to use a proxy to get him so it was just a little bit more expensive, but it's all fine!

    Also, I saw the Barbie movie yesterday and it was too good, I can't stop thinking\talking about it help orz

    Oh, and regarding my difficult relationship with synthv: I discovered my pc can handle using it in Speed mode, and honestly, after trying hard using it for a bit, it's not as bad as I remembered; maybe I just have to get used to it, as it has its redeeming qualities and can be fun! We'll see :jun_lili:

    Honestly, it’s too brilliant; lighthearted and funny, yet capable of serious and in-depth social analysis and messages. I also really liked that they didn’t leave anyone behind and that, upon leaving the cinema, you just can’t help but continue thinking more and more about all the social constructs we’re oppressed by and further expand on the analysis of all the little details they put, all of which carry its own meaning. I loved it so much. And I love Allan, he’s baby

    Ok, Reml is AMAZIng, I'm trying her out and there is really a lot you can do with her! Super expressive and with a lot of character, which is even carried when changing dynamic marks (which impact her singing style pretty well btw). And I love her auto-pitch(?), it seems funny but it tends to tune in a way that's really similar to my usual tuning :ryuuto_lili:, which means less work for me compared to other Cevios. Overall, she really is the perfect AI vb for me, I'm so glad to have her :akasakiminato_lili:

    Having V6 made me realize that I can now finally have v5 voicebanks too..

    So, not only I realized today that my favorite v5 was on dlsite, but also that the 30% off coupon is still valid and works with multiple accounts!
    All of this to say... say hi to a new Meika Hime user from now on :3 :hime_smile_lili: (her and Reml are going to make amazing duets, I'm saying it)

    Part of me is so excited for Oscar AI being a thing and really wants to back him up, but the other part of me really dislikes synthv as a program sgxhh.

    It is too messy and I don't like the fact that it drastically changes between each version in such a short amount of time and in unpredictable ways at all.

    Also I can barely use it as my laptop instantly reaches 100% CPU usage and basically turns into a radiator after a single playback orz, and it's a problem only synthv has, V6 and Cevio AI work perfectly fine on it without a single lag.

    Maybe I should just give up and search for other male vocals alternatives on other programs, but Oscar is so precious :kaito_lili:, ahhhh don't know what to do tbh :ring_ani_lili:

    I love some SynthV voices and I really wanna use them, but my computer also just can’t handle SynthV, which makes the experience really unpleasant. It always closes itself, doesn’t wanna playback or just acts all crazy if I just touch it 😭 tbh my computer also doesn’t handle cai and ace the best (and v6 doesn’t even open it) but it’s no where near as bad as Synthv. I think my computer not being the best is probably the reason I use v4 and utau the most, since they rarely make my computer work too hard

    @pico you're right, it's probably the best thing to do, I just ca't justify getting him now at full price given how little I use synthva (aka almost never really).
    If I remember correctly, before Yu Yao's release they had a big discount for her, so if that was also true for Oscar I could eventually take advantage of that to get him :agree:
