I do miss glottal effects... I suspected they'd add it back in but I'm glad they essentially confirmed it!

I wonder what other things will be patched/updated in (outside of bug fixes and VST stuff)...

On this page - Synthesizer V Studio - they write that the Lite voices are
"Only compatible on the Basic version of Synthesizer V Studio"
- which would mean that Lite Versions can't be used in the Pro version, is that correct?
Then, if I bought the pro version, I'd have to get the paid version of the voices?

I’m pretty sure that is a typo. I have both Eleanor and Chiyu lite installed with SynthV Pro.

Synth V is very specific about notes with several syllables either not overlapping or having space between them - in either case you cant hear either both syllables or the second syllable. I'm used to being able to use my timing from the way I play a song on a keyboard (I export the midi to Vocaloid/Synth V). But in Synth V I have to use snapping to make it work, and that's not very 'musical' in my opinion. I hope this will change in the future - especially since it works perfecly with overlapping notes in Vocaloid (at least in Piapro and Vocaloid 5). But maybe there is some workaround that I haven't found?

Hmm I can see the frustration with that tbh :x when I import one of the vpr I've been working on I have to go through and fix the notes which takes a bit then I have to go through and fix the notes now that I can hear them which takes longer its a mess tbh XD but I will say the overlap wasn't a thing in the vocaloid editor till v5 I'm pretty sure :x so like I should be used to it but the fact that you can overlap helps in v5

@Stigbn I think none of the other vocal synth software (correct me if I'm wrong) allow for overlapping notes. I think it's because of the way the programs synthesize the voice and the phonemes next to each other are important. So I think it wouldn't know what to do if the notes were overlapping, it would be weird because 1) even humans can't sing while they are already singing, 2) since the singing is synthesized kind of like a phoneme chain, the overlapping note would mess up the chain (not sure how to explain what I'm thinking with words). I think that since vocal synthesizers are instruments, they are more like flutes (or something) and not like pianos or guitars that can play chords. So you'll just have to have multiple tracks for overlapping singing.

Both Piapro and Vocaloid 5 allow for overlapping notes. That's why I can import my improvised piano parts and immediately hear them with a voice. That's the reason I've used Piapro for 5 years.
I don't want " overlapping singing" , I know you would need two tracks for that. But when a new note comes on, it silences the last exactly like when you play a monophonic synth. If you have it, try Piapro or vocaloid 5.

I have both V5 and Piapro, but I guess i'm so used to the error message in Vocaloid Editor 4 (I mainly use that because it's "lighter" than the other 2) that I avoid overlapping notes at all costs. Now I feel kinda dumb but want to test it out.

Saw this thread of Twitter and thought it was kind of interesting.

I don't think anyone talked about it before, but I found out about a cool track color changer for Synth V 2.

It's really easy, you just have to download the latest version, unzip, and open the ColorSynth application, select which SV2 file you want to open, then click to assign a color before saving the file. Currently, SV2 won't let you pick track colors, so this is really helpful!

Her new outfit is very pretty! I liked it before, but this one seems a bit more elegant along the neck area. I wonder if they will use it when her full voice is available?

Old outfit for comparison:

I noticed her ear white and grey order switched, too!

Ah Im glad they somewhat simplified her design while still remaining faithful to the og ( they probably caught up that artists had hard time drawing her and were simplifying her in the 1st place :teto_lili: ).

She still looks more like paint/drawing software mascot which is criticism I always had towards her look :yohioloid_lili: but this a positive change imo.

Ya the simplified design is appreciated. I've wanted to draw fanart but... all the intricate details. They kept a lot of the crucial details that made Eleanor unique which I appreciate...

I freaking love her ribbons looking like bunny ears. It looks awkward on the one ear yet I love it.

The drawing itself is just flat out gorgeous. Who's the artist or is that unknown?

Really wish we had a model sheet for it because I wonder how her back is I do think it's a improvement. Still think it's a lack luster design in that it doesn't look like it sounds. I find it weird that they made the bow asymmetric. Still can't get into the wax.

Genbu, Aiko, and Eleanor all have little pens on them. I always associated it with composing your own music.

Also, I feel like this isn't really a simplified design, more like the details kind of migrated to different spots on her (ex: the dress pens are now on her waist). XD;
The original artist that initially designed her seemed to be a huge Miku fan (drawing a lot of fan art on Pixiv), so I can see why she looks super cute and maybe not more mature which might "match" her voice more.

I dunno I always though she could pass for Krita mascot ngl :clara_ani_lili:

And I do believe her design became more artist friendly:o her silhouette is easier to grasp ( I always found the skirt in her 1st design nightmare-ish to draw lol ). And I do remember a lot of "her design doesnt fit her voice" comments when SynthV was initially released but I personally never udnerstood that notion, she can be pushed to sound more mature but Eleanor in her og state is quite juvenile sounding imo :yohioloid_lili:
