As it's New Year's Eve, I took the opportunity too ...run a bunch of searches on VocaDB and see which SynthV had the most new songs added this year.
VocaDB SynthV song count, all time:
Kasane Teto - 17721
Koharu Rikka - 5340
Hanakuma Chifuyu - 5085
Mai - 4390
Natsuki Karin - 4171
SOLARIA - 3410
Megpoid SV - 3168
Eleanor Forte - 2873
Miyamai Moca - 2231
Stardust Infinity - 2097
VocaDB SynthV song count, 2025:
Kasane Teto - 9555
Hanakuma Chifuyu - 1959
Miyamai Moca - 1847
Mai - 1677
Koharu Rikka - 1514
Megpoid SV - 1503
Natsuki Karin - 1183
ROSE - 989
Otomachi Una - 937
SOLARIA - 868
Comparing the two charts, some general changes to VocaDB popularity have occurred:
Dropped: Koharu Rikka, SOLARIA, Eleanor Forte, Stardust Infinity
Risen: Miyamai Moca, ROSE, Otomachi Una
Methodology notes:
- Two Koharu Rikka tags were added together, 小春六花 (Unknown) and 小春六花 AI.
- Eleanor Forte is the only non-AI voicebank featured, her most popular tag is her Lite.
- All song entries (original, cover, remix, etc.) are included.
- While VocaDB does have a stats page with graphs, it seems to be outdated, with song numbers not matching search results.
Caveats:
- VocaDB relies not just on a vocal synth's popularity among producers, but the popularity of a vocal synth among VocaDB editors. As such it cannot be considered a perfect correlation to the overall popularity of any vocal synth.
- Being a primarily English site, it's biased in favour of vocal synths with strong English-speaking fandoms. Obvious examples are the inflation of Megurine Luka's popularity, and Luo Tianyi being critically under-documented.
- A single productive editor can boost the number of entries for a particular vocal synth.
Here are the stats if we don't restrict ourselves to Synthesizer V:

This also goes to show that a lot of concatenative songs are being added to VocaDB! So if you miss your traditional Big 8 fave, fear not: there are plenty of songs for you to discover.
