I'm not mad about a new engine, any more so than I was every time I had to go buy V3, then V4, then V5 -- although I have yet to cave and get V6. It just better be that SV1(?) banks are compatible with SV2, or I'll be upset lol. Especially since there are a number of unreleased banks still, from Haiyi's preorders that just opened, to the Miki and Kiyoteru releases. I guess these could all secretly be SV2 banks, but more likely they will be compatible. I doubt it will be such a huge change in synthesis that you can't port the banks, like V1->V2 was

So all in all, it's exciting! Worrying for the wallet maybe, but exciting! I wonder if they will bring back glottal stops, put in accents, things like that. Many potential options

I think it's a good idea to release a new standalone version if they're doing a big GUI overhall - being forced to use a new UI is annoying if you're someone who likes and is used to the original, so it's nice to have it be an optional upgrade.
This so much! One thing I disliked about the old SynthV is that some updates majorly changed things. SynthV Studio 1 in 2024 is radically different from SynthV Studio 1 in 2021, but now that they're making SynthV 2, SynthV 1 will be the same in 2027 as it is in 2025.

True, but the idea is that if they implement a choir feature, do you think it would function like the Zola unison plugin since it allows you to tune all 3 vocals at once so they sing the same in unison?
Actually now that I think about, harmonizing is also a huge part of choir, so it implementing such a feature would probably be different.
