I don't really think it's much different from synths that use stock photos as their boxart though tbh 🤔
I don't get this vibe from stock photos, as they're usually not being marketed as characters - just an image used to quickly show 'this is a product that sings'. For me, Anna is different because her 'digital human artist' marketing asks its audience to directly connect with the avatar as an individual. This isn't anything new for vocal synths, and it's always been something I've been wary of. 'Fictional popstar' advertising can be a fun and lighthearted way to spark creativity, or sleazy and creepy (idol master, young women at your command!); all depending on how it's presented. For me, very realistic, moving avatars make it easier for that style of marketing to evoke a Stepford Wives association. It's all subjective, of course - with only one teaser, there's still plenty of time for them to change my opinion.

Aisuu and Kirune’s “”physical versions (they really r just cards with their 1 year license codes on the back)”” have been added to the Voisona booth and it seems like Chisa’s and kzn’s cards are gonna be added too eventually

Yukari will be the latest Addition to the Voisona Voices! Like with kzn, anyone that already have Yukari's Cevio AI bank can use her in voisona for free, for one year.

It's one way to finally play Cevio Ai on Mac, sort-off. Is there any real difference or it's exactly the same?

For Sasara, Yukari and Kizuna, there are no differences at all, it uses the same framework as cevio ai iirc and they dont even have the new vocoder that chis-a JP uses so so far, other than chis-a JP, all voisona voicebanks sound like cevio outputs

Voisona seems to be just Cevio but marketed to a “regular Japanese producer” rather to an otaku/vsynth fan base. The subscription model proves that, because a “regular producer” wouldn’t really need the voice forever, while an otaku/vsynth fan would like to have it forever just due to fandom culture and attraction to the characters. The general marketing also seems to be way less character oriented than Cevio ai’s. So I don’t think that any “new features” were ever a goal of voisona

I have the opposite opinion I think, imo Chis-A was really heavily promoted (comparitively to like V6's default vocals or DT's letter vocals) like she has a lot of merch and there was that collab with sasara around the time she released too and two character albums (maybe even releasing more in the future). Chis-A has a proper character profile and their twitter seems to promote Chis-A herself often. Their demos too (At least for technospeech) has a lot of thought put into them, not only do AiSuu and Kirune have demos (3 in total, with popular producers as well) Chis-A Eng received a demo by Circus (which means someone on the team did research into english producers who are currently popular and have a sizeable fanbase) all of them receiving music videos that heavily feature the vocal. + the fact that subscription model is per voice kinda brings an incentive to make the voice (and ergo the character as its representation) more appealing.

Technospeech did an interview a few months ago and they cited the reason they wanted to change the name from Cevio Pro to VoiSona was to clear confusion that A) VoiSona is by technospeech meanwhile CeVIO is by 5 parties, technospeech included, meaning that while its a sister project, its still its own separate thing. and B) to clear up confusion regarding vocals compatibility between CCS, CeVIO AI and CeVIO Pro (VoiSona). While they do talk about like,,, doing cross compatibility between CAI and VoiSona, there is still a clear intent to separate itself from CeVIO. They even mention that there is a team (or at the very least a few members) who are working on VoiSona exclusively (and not members who are working on CeVIO and VoiSona at the same time)

I think what VoiSona is doing rn is padding out their roster for now and they'll introduce the chis-a jp vocoder later on. (Since i think it was at an experimental stage before?) + Given the existence of an experimental vocoder in the first place kinda implies that they're working on smth new for voisona. at least thats what im hoping for, else,,, i think its really stupid of them to go to the effort of not only rebranding from CeVIO Pro to VoiSona but also dedicating a separate effort/team into developing it if the vocal output's just gonna be the same as CeVIO's anw

I think ts just figured that making an unappealing avatar "or no avatar" is not a good idea, and so to make chis-a appealing to both "proffecionals" and "otaku" they gave her a character and merch

and idk about the rest, i was just speculations
