    im definitely waiting for ci flower to Vanish again and something about the bank being delayed. i remember the contest had some "secret" prize that was not defined, and i kinda wonder if it was like a free code of the bank, which they likely dont have ready/finished anyways, and are just gonna skimp on saying anything for a while bc they couldnt pull through with more by now. like a serial would be cool but they also didnt just outright say it was a serial? but i cant imagine what would be good enough to keep it a secret....like wouldnt you want ot encourage entries by saying what it was??? thats still so weird to me lol

    Hmm, well they still could give out a serial even if she's not out, that's what's happened with YuYao too!

    But yeah, I also don't think promise of a "secret prize" is something I can get behind, I think they should be transparent about the prizes so the artists know what they're working for, I think one secret prize among other prizes that are clearly stated could be fun but iirc this is the only one no?

    well for sure the serial doesnt matter in terms of release- but yeah, i feel like it would have gone in tow with some kind of demo or sample prior, which we obviously dont have, and the whole secret prize remaining totally secret is just odd to me because like. if it is a serial for free that rad but wouldnt you want to know what you might be getting??? it would be major encouragement to know for sure, i mean why wouldnt you wanna enter to get a free copy of ci flower yeah?

    i also double checked and the old post in the thread said "100,000 yen, a plaque (translation wasnt clear from "入賞記念盾")" and a "secret that will be announced later". which i forgot the "announced later" part because like ummm how later? obviously the contest already ended so i guess we all will find out at some point what people got...? :P i was getting the vibe back then it was likely gonna be some kind of merch, which seems a tad more likely for the secretive part as to not spoil what it looks like but id be a lil bummed waiting for a secret prize and its just merch and not the bank and you get uh. a plaque and money. i know one of the other thoughts was a beta but i feel like thats something youd advirtize too (esp since not everyone can utilize a beta access to a voc synth)

    man 2022 was quite a year, cant beleive solaria and asterian both released. given solaria was right at the start and asterian right at the end but- regardless of any opinions on the two im impressed a new company to the scene managed to release two well made vocals in the same year, with practically no major launch issues between them. eclipse sounds has certainly showed themselves to be pretty responsive and prepared with their releases so i hope to see them stick around for more.

    was very hype to use ACE, and ive been messing with it, buts its been surprisingly slow with rendering at times (not sure if cutting up the tracks helps like in v5, but it did sometimes just get really stuck almost infinitely as loading). additionally it doesnt seem like pitch data is being converted when i convert to ufdata format, but im not sure if im just doing something wrong there...

    seems one of my Solaria covers is reaching the non-vocasynth crowd, getting asked about what the VST is, the learning curve, how long it took, etc.... that is a good sign. maybe people are searching about it after that ad thats gone around, idk. but getting complete strangers is cool to see, tells me people are finding it that dont otherwise know vocsynth

    i think the new synth v male bank falls in a category that is hard to figure out an opinion on bc i think its a bank that is fitting a very specific tonal twang, that when not utilized, it can sound bad. like, sachiko for example. there is a different between a voice that is just... really low and deep like Asterian, versus a voice like Sachiko or Unnamed Male. Asterian isnt for a specific genre(when i say specific i mean VERY specific, like the new guy). hes a octavist with a variety of genres being captured in his vocal modes. Sachiko has an enka accent and style. Unnamed Male has that. idk what you call it but its that weird thing that certain rock artists do in their tone lol. I loved Sachiko but theres a reason we dont hear her used that much even after all this time of people growing on her- she isnt able to do much outside of that, because if she isnt fitting the style she doesnt sound great. Already I feel like Unnamed Male will be like that- he will sounds really fuckin good when the right tuners get their hands on him and use him with the genre he fits, but will sound bad when poorly tuned and probably wont be a very beginner friendly voice in that regard.

    thats kind of where id want to hope Synth V's auto tuning strikes well (Asterian's auto tuning is REALLy good and fitting to his type so i wanna cross my fingers dreamtonics will put the effort into making that work well), but even so this is obvious the issue with such a specific toned bank. and thats NOT bad because obvious we asked for it. we ask for banks like this constantly so by no means am i upset-- i just have these expectations lined up bc i undoubetly know people will end up huffy about the results of the banks and its not to say its excusable, its just like. how i expect things to go ya know.

    Honestly, I disagree that he’ll be similar in execution to Sachiko. Sachiko has a very distinct voice that’s tailor-made for enka. The new guy just sings loud. He has the exact same tone and lack of nuance as, well, most other masculine vocals DT has put forth. I’m a metalhead and ingest rock and metal in unhealthy quantities. Nothing about his tone suggests he’s meant for rock aside from the fact that he seems capable of singing more forcefully than other vocals on the market right now. A step in the right direction for sure! But that’s about it. Again, I’m hoping I’ll be proven wrong, but judging purely from what we’ve heard, I feel he’s gearing up to be more of the same as everything we already have.

    ive shared a few lil tests of the diffsvc voice i trained off flower bc its fun rendering for myself but i dont really plan to do anything else w it, but its no surprise ppl keep asking me for it. and i just dont rly get it. like its not even hard to train so you can do it yourself p easily anyways, but also? i know its so not legal to distribute! ive faced years of ppl asking me for my sonic/shadow utaus. im not giving in now lol.. pls have some awareness

    there is a lot of excitement in like... ease of production, when it comes to stuff like diff svc-- ive always had a back and forth with the ways to make your own singing voices, in the sense i just dont have the time or energy to produce vcv/cvvc/vccv utaus for whatever language... or perhaps tackle a NNSVS voice, etc. even if i were to sit down and do it, it would take quite a while. and so im excited to find ways i can use diff svc to assist my music production. BUT i still have a lot of love for the making of utaus, nnsvs, etc. the feeling of constructing a voicebank, tuning it, etc is a whole other unique process. i think its important to know what that feels like. and knowing when i want to use that. hell, just going through the work anyways of making one can still be its own labor of love. i still want to, and plan to, produce some utau banks. id still love to make a nnsvs bank!

    the conflict for me w dreamtonics' vbs is like. theyre not all perfect of course but the more they make them i feel like the other issues aside from general samey-ness is that the demos too are just super lacking. i hear other people's covers on release and they convince me far more that they might be worth a purchase-- their quality is usually consistent and in general the way i see them used by others in the community shows their strength far better. i dont give in to it bc i know they have released SO many and in the end they add up to all being similar in ways that makes me know i dont want like 10 of them lol. but seriously the official demos i feel like turn me off to them, and the fan works make me see that often times, these voices are fine and have potential in their usage. its just a lot of the same thing.

    unless i properly practice voice acting i dont think i could make a diff-svc model of my own voice and want to release it... itd be a super useful tool to me, and my own work/music! but i wouldnt wanna give it out. its kinda.... scary how accurate it can be with the right, clean samples tbh.

    nah i feel ya, i wouldn't even feel comfortable releasing utau vbs made with my voice :LOL: the thought of people being able to play back the raw recordings of me going "aaiaueaa~ 🎶 " makes me cringe rtyui

    oh wow diff-svc got a lot of updates whle i was away. you can easy pick pretrained stuff in training settings now??? i may retrain the model i was doing for a test since i couldnt figure that out at all before. i wass only at 36k so...
