I've never tried it so I don't know if it's any better, but it looks like you can edit otos when you go to Tools > Singers.
doing a cover with natalie in japanese and english, and its interesting but she is very 'solid' and strong naturally with japanese, but speaking english she falters. the straight forward and simple phonetics of japanese make it easier to keep that sound i guess, where english is complex with all its consonants mixing in, cutting off the ability for vowels to shine and be belted the same way

its a cover of error. i actually wanted to do this w yuma but couldnt get him sounding right but plugged him back in after natalie and. well he sounds good but oh boy, his voice is doing some funky things lol

yuma does not react to the japanese .h notes i put when converted to .hh the same way lol......
also the way the last word faces out isnt on purpose ???? and idk why its happening
something interesting happens when you export vocals on synth v but tell it to render a track that has been muted. i noticed how it doesnt render any noise obviously, but i didnt realize it does but its... like. horribly corrupted. so it does render a voice? but its all fucked up. weird.

I've had this happen. I've also had it screw up the gain on the export-- it'll generate it at max gain and it sounds horribly bitcrunched LOL. Very unfortunate.

the weirdest thing i had happen (quite a few versions back) was it rendered two voices in one track-- not in engine but the finished file it rendered. i had changed the vocals from like.. natalie to solaria, and suddenly half way through the render it gave me it switch to natalie again. so weird @pico
when i stopped making vocaloid covers my main channel's thing and stopped so i could also not face the pressure of people expecting covers, i have since just made covers and left them unposted on my pc. and that was the thing i wanted to get to- still make stuff when i feel like it but no pressure to share them. but also now i cant even figure out how many covers i have produced in the last 2~ years and what may be posted or finished lol. maybe some day ill make a massive archive of every single one, maybe just for my own organizational sake
man synth v has been taking longer to open than before... idk if its just me or if the programs just getting slower as it updates

This was part of the new update! it was mentioned in the update notes, and there's a feature within to save files as compatible with previous versions.
Given the design alterations in AI Retakes feature, project files saved using version 1.10.0b1 and subsequent versions will not be compatible with prior versions of Synthesizer V Studio (1.9.0 and earlier). For user convenience, an option has been introduced in the “File” menu, allowing projects to be saved in a format compatible with Synthesizer V Studio 1.9.0.

I am so uninterested in updating that I'm just sticking with 1.9 until I buy another voice, which I don't see myself doing anytime soon as I'm content with the lineup I have and I literally have 4 mains at this point

@Cluemily ah i mustve missed that when i looked through... good to see there is a way to save it for the older version still. in general though seems good that utaformatix also seems to reset it in some form, though im curious if itll continue to do that.
was tuning and you know its p nice you can switch versions of voices. was thinking about how Yuma has improved and just put version 104 next to 100 and man. so wild. heres an example from new -> old: yuma_104v100

these both have the same settings! they have power and solid almost all the way up! along w some breathiness, tensions, gender, and tone shift (all the way up).

its not even that 100 sounds bad. but i felt back then that Yuma's vocal modes just werent that obvious, and now his voice is SO much more solid. you can still make 104 sound like 100, but instead its kinda just his natural voice? and his vocal modes are just more prominent
aughhh i am struggling with this cover mix. i definitely finally found a vocsynth screamo effect that sounds pretty good buuut i keep tweaking it over and over bc it just doesnt sound exactly right. but i also dont think i can improve this all too much bc its... well, its a vocsynth

i have some specific settings I have been using too tho you are free to do something else. I have been trying to get the higher pitched type of screamo, this is what i do @mobius017

    For the singer settings:
    LOUDNESS 5
    TENSION .5
    BREATH .7
    GEN 1
    TONE SHIT 40
key shift is optional for what you want

For RV Growl & vocascreamer settings:

I usually use FL hardcore with the first preset but it doesnt really matter, just whatever you like.

i have a cover i wanna get out asap but i am going to draw new art for Yuma-- the art put in the bg of synth v. i kinda completely forgot i had my art in there bc its just normal to me know lol but its a year old.
i took part in a game jam this month so i have been absent from like everything else i wanted to do lol... but i finished a little game demo and im v happy bc its my first game ever to make. i have wanted to for so long, this jam is for the Narrat engine which made it to much easier to realize the kinda game i wanted to make

edit: i posted the game if anyone wants to see it :)

@morrysillusion I hope you never whent through the torture that we call "Eckenrechnen" here. A game loved by primary teachers here. 4 kids go into 1 corner of the room and have to calculate stuff in their head, and whoever gave the right answer first moved to the next corner. Whoever managed to do a whole round or more was the winner. ...guess who never left the starting corner. I hate dyscalculia so much, and even more that it's not taken seriously at all compared to dyslexia 😔

oh my godddd holy crap you did open a memory in my mind. jesus. the moment you mentioned going into a corner and progressing..... yeah, we did do that-- at least in 4th grade because thats when we learned multiplying and dividing for the firs time. @Mika it is truly annoying, ppl play it off and throw it around a lot in similar ways to ocd-- like "oh ahaha i hate math! i kinda suck at it!" and its very under-talk about in clinical settings

there is a lot of interesting thoughts about hpvsynth's realvoice plugin on places like vi-control... obvs i think there is a lot of misunderstanding with people outside of this space. but i have had people saying things like "well i will just using realvoice on my own vocal recording for this cover. i think id face copyright problems if i just ripped it from the original singer"

okay so. lets think about this. of course i or others can react with "but how would they know?" however i will be a bit more deep about it. i mean for one if you can sing it it does feel a little pointless but, despite that. if you used praat and got your pitch bends from the original and you didnt say anything, itd be impossible to argue its not yours, especially with plugins that smooth out all those wiggly accurate lines. and even if you didnt use realvoice... you could still 100% copy it by! hand! yourself!! maybe you just listen by ear and you get it right. and what then? is it still wrong to learn, and want to replicate?
i like realvoice not even to make constant covers out of, but really just to learn. if youre learning how singers sing from that, or just by ear... it literally just cant be plagiarizing or stealing and trying to apply this to voc synth tuning causes a lot of issues. even without this realvoice stuff people have ALREADY been trying to mimic singers in their voc synth covers. the concern only came up the moment people talked about 'ripping' pitch bends recently. however.... this isnt the first tool to exist for this. vocalistener for vocaloid exists, and people just thought it was the coolest thing (it was hell to use tho) (continued in comments...)
ok i decided i would do that tierlist thing, i think when i last did it it was only vocaloid :P
(if there was seperate ones for old zola i would have had them higher for sure lol)

cant seem to get the normal upload working so, hopefully he imgur link works- might need to click for higher quality

she's always been up there in my favorites behind miku, and i finally got her for my 18th birthday (well, money to buy her, not her herself) almost 2 years ago now (which is kinda funny, because 18 is her character age).

i recently decided to research irish accents, music and culture, mainly to help me use her but also partly out of interest (and appreciation for the irish in my family tree), and that's really boosted her in my favorites (and given me something interesting to talk about with people)
pifuyuu is a god send <3 you should follow them on youtube, they cover so many songs and release all the ust files.
i will prob still be using ritchy's trial but i really do love his singing voice lol... im bad at using the rap, but he is cool for singing which is good! makes him versatile IDK HOW I DIDNT NOTICE AND FAILED TO MENTION!!!! they have vocal modes!!!
got home from a trip to see i got an email from a german youtuber that he saw my Easy On Me cover with Solaria and made a video about synth v AI. its all in german and i can tell from google translate of the description that it also dives into other AI related talk. i would have to hope it doesnt dive into the Wrong assumption of synth v's AI voices tho lol.... he sounded pretty positive about the tech in the email so...! hopefully its fine lol. the guy has very little subs but it is a very professional looking video.

    the video is here:

Skipped through the video and he only mentions Solaria in the beginning as "his best singer in the studio being an AI, not a human". The rest of the video is about AI alltogether, how it works, how it changed and improved/developed and a bit about the panic people have. But I really just skipped around to see if he said much about synthesizers, and not really. Also I really hate that thumbnail, lol.

@Mika yeah that is what i gathered purely off of the chapters listed in the description. and yes the thumbnail is something lmao
