I finally got Word again after so many years without it, like a week ago...but the day after Onedrive is expired and I have like a month or 2 left before I lose so many important stuff (like V4 to V6... and FL Studio) just my luck!! 😭
I still need to get a better SSD for my laptop. But I think I need to get something else that will save all my files to transfer to the new ssd? *sigh* unless i bite the bullet and just buy a yearly onedrive.

I recommend to buy a portable hard drive (not ssd) and backup all your data there. The problem with ssd is that they can lose all data if they stay without electricity for about 1 year. for the price of onedrive 1 year you can get a 5 TB portable hdd, then you can use some free space from cloud storage like google drive and mega, which offer 15gb and 20gb if i'm not mistaken. have multiple backup (also on dvd and blu-ray) is very important, never rely on only one option ^-^

I just wanted to add more info about HDD, is that harddrives "will" lose data over time regardless of how expensive or how well they build, it's not completely 100% back-up. Any data stored magnetically will not last forever, bits can flip any time. The material itself used on the platters for storing data can and does deteriorate over time, just like everything else.

Most today standard HDD come with SMART (Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology)
It's part of the firmware that does perform various tasks on the drive. Drives use error correction to constantly cope with flipped bits on the fly, but it would impact performance to rewrite bits that have lost their magnetic orientation, so they stay until you rewrite the data. The error correction can actually cope with a substantial amount of flipped bits and the process stays invisible to the user (but may be found in the SMART). Only when it exceeds its capabilities, will you actually encounter a read error.

That said, i never experienced bit failure or complete data loss (yet) but it's not a foolproof. The chances of your HDD gone wrong are low but not zero.

Any data stored on HDD should be read and validated at least once a year along with a second copy, should part or all of one disk goes bad. Drives will die for any reason at any time. Having valid backups is your only real option. (Replace a new HDD every 5 years or 10 years is a good idea)

I auto-backup my computer up to a Synology NAS with a couple of 8TB HDDs in a RAID type configuration to get around some of those issues. They're always powered, each drive holds a full copy of the data, and it will alert me if one goes bad, so I can just slot a new one in and it will recopy the functional drive to the new one. (I also occasionally upload my music projects to an Amazon S3 bucket to account for natural disasters.)

If we're talking about upgrading an internal drive in the computer, you can get USB adapters that will connect to a SATA drive so you can use them externally. M.2 drives are a bit more of a pain, I think.
Why does the best voices in Vocaloid and Synth V have the ugliest designs?

Henny fengyi has litterally such a pretty voice and the design the design honey it’s an f and an e the two best letters of the alphabet and they could have stopped there but no they made the fe blue and coral a color combo from the 2000s heaven /jk
Everyday I log on in hopes of Miki synth V news and every day I leave sad :<
Friend: OMG! you have to listen to this vocaloid song, the message is so deep, so existencial, makes you think

Me: ok, let's give it a try

The song:

:rin_lili: : Minna-san, society sucks and you deserve to be happy~ <3
Which email address do you think would be better for sending a figure idea to CFM?
There's one for vocal synth inquiries, and one for everything else.
I went on NicoNico and searched up "MEIKO_ENGLISH", there's surprisingly plenty of content. It is all old videos, but it's a lot more than what you can find on YouTube.
Didn't have much luck with searching "Luka English" though.
I want to discover more work featuring classic English voice DBs. I don't mind covers, I just want to listen to the unique machine noise of a pre-AI Vocaloid.
I must say though, AI voicebanks handle bass sound and lower notes much better.
Do you guys use voice parameters inside singer editor? (vocaloid4)

Not too much. I feel like you can probably get a better result if you do, but I don't tune very much yet.

My general theory is that plugins should be used to make the largest adjustments to how a voice sounds (like, overall timbre), and the parameters are for making the more organic variations that occur during the course of the song.

Happy to hear other ideas, through, because my vocal manipulation probably could be a lot better.

I've been using it for the past few years, i notice that it is exactly the same thing as parameters below the piano roll. At first, i don't know why it should exist since it offer no advantage over the control parameters below the piano roll, but now. I think it is the most convenient thing because i probably spend less than 10seconds to set the values and it will stay that way for the entire songs and i can save it as voice presets too which is a huge time saving.

@mobius017 I think it's all about workflow, i prefer to shape the tone during mixing but some users prefer to manipulate their favourite VBs inside vocaloid editor as @Mika mentioned, but in my opinion, i find it work best if i combined this two methods together.

Some parameters like Breathiness and Clearness i don't really like it at first (i don't think it sound good at all. . .), but my opinion has changed a lot, it actually very useful.
i wish i could have some params like exciter, expression in vocaloid 4 but that's not gonna happen.

Some voicebanks will have the most benefits from these control parameters adjustment as Mika mentioned it really helps.
I truly believe that using a few voicebanks that you know them well and can you control it like your hands is the best parth to go.

Oh, re-reading this, I just realized that you meant the overall singer parameters rather than the tuning area under the piano roll. Yeah, the overall parameters are all about making presets.

I'm pretty sure those stack with what you do in the tuning area, too, so you can push a parameter value twice as far. (Going that far might not be a good idea most of the time, but I'm pretty sure that was how I observed it working.)

As Eurovision is within two weeks or so, just a reminder I personally feel this one is so slept on, even though I do admit there are better and more memorable songs but iunno why it hypnotizes me (and I still miss the random weird ice cream cones dancers from the original video it would have been lolzier)
i still wonder what in the world happened to gackpo's popularity

he went from a member of the Big 8 to basically dropping off the face of the earth with a lot of newer fans not even knowing who he is :gackpo_ani_lili:
