Not only that, but since she was released as a character using VY1's voice, like, a year maybe before she got her own V3 bank, it gave her a bit of an identity crisis back then that I think kind of hindered her ability to really catch on. But I think now that it's been a long time since then, she can sort of reinvent herself without it feeling as schizophrenic as it did back then.

She went into the recording studio but today was just a sample. Next time will be the real deal! She'll do her best to be in top vocal condition for the proper recording.
I think people mostly missed it with the announcement of the arts, but they also announced she's going to be crowdfunded. They're working with SSS (of Zunko, Kiritan and NFT fame) to crowdfund a Japanese CeVIO AI Talk bank from June 1st to June 30th. They're using Green Funding, which is the one overseas people can't really use, though they paradoxically say in the next sentence they're considering a system by which overseas people can participate when they could have just gone with Campfire. They say that after the Japanese Talk bank they plan to produce the Japanese Song bank, then English Talk, then English Song. No information on if those will also be crowdfunded.
Kinda disappointed it's being done like this honestly... I have no interest in a standalone Japanese Talk bank, and it seems like the Song banks won't be produced until next year at the earliest. Also SSS being involved after the NFT fiasco feels bad too.

Hmm... well, no matter what, I'm gonna do my best to support her! I don't quite understand why they're prioritizing Talk over Song, though, I confess.
I can see why! Talk vbs have history of being more popular in Japan, prolly trying to build her a dedicated fanbase before jumping to song vb ( considering they need crowdfunding there's only so much they can do at once ) to give her better chance at being successful :)

I guess it makes sense why they're working with SSS; they have incredible experience with crowdfunding campaigns and rarely (if ever?) have had failures. Since Rosa's not affiliated with AHS in any way, there's no reason for them to help, so..

As for the NFT incident, I really only saw the Western community try to explain to them why it was bad... everything I saw from the JP side was positive and/or supportive, so I guess SSS' reputation is really only ruined here. it hurts

Yeah, I respect how they’re starting small! It’s easy to jump in with such an ambitious project, but they’re approaching it very realistically, and it’s refreshing to see.
I had no idea talk banks were more popular in Japan! Since that's the case, I think it's a good marketing strategy so she wouldn't get lost in a sea of other song vbs.
Also, I adore her design; she's SO pretty!
i always kinda got the idea talk banks were quite popular in japan, i guess im a little surprised just because i felt most initial discussion and excitement for Rosa was over the idea of her being a singing bank because cul was a vocaloid- but it makes sense to maybe start smaller first anyways and see how it goes before putting everything in the song banks.
i also much like the finished illustrations- i wasnt sure how 'not done' the original sketches were tbh, and wasnt super into how her outfit was looking. but it looks pretty nice all rendered out!

Just going to pop in my experience from making tts in the past. Talk banks are fairly less effort to make than song, because you don't have to deal with labeling pitches and singing on pitch and with standard recording dealing with complicated recording script. It will probably be easier on Snow white too she'll be just voice acting or talking. It's a lot easier for someone who might not know all the ins and outs of recording a voice bank and is a good place to start on the developer side and the voice provider side.
Maybe they're doing talk voice first because

this is something i kept thinking about about. i mean, i assume they people working with her have some private audition sample from her that made them pick her (aside from her being a passionate fandom person which makes sense outwardly). but can she sing....? because iirc all her videos are just her lip syncing. i feel like im missing something, about making a potential singing bank with a person that hasnt been shown to sing at all
