The gist of the article appears to be that Crypton possibly wants Miku to sound like "Miku" at this point rather than Saki Fujita (I.e. a truly distinct character rather than just a voice acted avatar), and perhaps V5 was processing realistic results that sounded too much like Fujita rather than Miku? Hence Piapro NT's existence - I'm struggling to understand the technical bits as well, but from what I understand, Crypton seems to be using voice synth technology that's different from V5 in order to preserve Miku's uniqueness.

I uninstalled Piapro Studio and reinstalled version 2.4.3.0 and have access to my third party voicebanks again, which basically confirms this is a problem with the update. I have reported the bug to Crypton

It's nice that they're officially supporting M1 Macs and Monterey with this release of the Vocaloid version, even if it's only if you run your DAW in Rosetta mode. I'm still sticking to Mojave on an Intel Mac for now, but that looming issue has been a concern.
