I watched that PJSK upload of Tokyo Teddy Bear. Does Rin sound a little softer than usual (by NT standards) to anyone else? I wonder if it's a sign they've started working on her Appends, but it also could just be tuning/mixing.
I think Rin is the best sounding out of these prototype voice libraries. She has the core of her voice intact, and doesn't have that overpowering metallic noise.
Though I do wish they would make it a little cuter, she still has that weird Append Power tone.
It's funny, isn't it? Luka and Meiko got "cuter", while Rin, who is actually supposed to be cute, still has the weird froggy tone.
I just want them to have a go at the ACT1 voicebanks again, but they're probably just reusing their V2 Append samples for these prototypes. I do wish they would record new samples, as I think having them re-recorded for a new engine could help them design an engine not limited to their old Vocaloid practices, that would really shine, but Crypton is too scared of having them sound too different, which they already are starting to with Luka and Meiko! (plus they've put layers and layers of post-processing into these samples in an attempt to clean them up and the digital artifacting is clearly hearable in the synthesis output. Having new, clean samples would be better to work with.)
I do wonder if Miku NT's EVEC works by sampling. Did they record unique sounds for these, or are they reusing old takes that we weren't previously shown? For the Original+ and Whisper+ library, it's possible they just re-used V4X EVEC sounds, but this is the first time Dark has had EVEC (Dark+). It's possible it's just engine processing.
